Maybe make gears more common, but in exchange add in another step for some mechanisms to keep the time but reduce the randomness as well as make another segment in the loop to allow fine adjustments.

I think the radar might be bugged to detect just one instance of the item. While I had the radar searching for gears it did move, but later on it didn't, but I saw an outline for the gear I found on the first floor.

Radar is the only thing that can help you find the radar, spend candy at jacks at the beginning to save time. Increase gamma to max for clear vision

It’s more a factor of just, you don’t know where to look for them right now

On the fourth and final floor I can never seem to find them even if it’s an open space

They tend to spawn near(for performance hall) 1 in the catwalk area, and 1 in the weird wooded hallways(the ones with the rot stuff filling them)

They have specific spawn locations, it's finding the right rooms where those spawns are. It can feel like a maze sometimes, especially when you have to keep track of every floor in case you get chucked down.
