I've got 6 hours in the game but some stuff i just cant wrap my head around because i just learn better by doing.

What kind of basics you thinking?

dull minnow
#

i would assume simple construction and orbit

hallow otter
#

Can‘t call, but I can help via text!

#

Is that okay, Kaiden?

dark kestrel
#

yeah if you can please

#

Thank you

hallow otter
#

Alright, what‘s up? What do ya need?

dark kestrel
#

So its kind of hard to explain but im trying to launch a new ship

#

but it keeps on burning out and running out of oxigen im pretty sure. ill take a screenshot real quick

it's a liquid fuel only fuel tank

#

you need a liquid fuel/oxidizer fuel tank

dark kestrel
#

damn i might be a bit dense

hallow otter
#

Try looking for tanks with „FL-T“ in the name

hallow otter
dark kestrel
#

OHHHH

#

okay i think i got that now

#

took a minute but i realised

#

thank you all

cosmic roost
#

by the way, that looks like not much fuel for having that many engines, you can definitely add more fuel if you want to

hallow otter
dark kestrel
#

yeah this was just for a lil flight to observe something, im dont have enough researched for orbit yet haha

cosmic roost
#

You probably can get to orbit with the parts you currently have, but if you want it to be easy get the LV-909 Terrier engine (and get heat shields too if you don't have them already)

hallow otter
#

Plus, use decouplers and staging, for more efficiency.

dark kestrel
#

will do

#

this is the early redesign with the new fuel tanks

Nice! Try adding fins to the bottom, because the rocket might flip a lot.

#

I’ts a really common problem, and fins cure it.

dark kestrel
#

oops

dark kestrel
#

yeah but i didnt prepare to get back 💀

#

i am cooked

also when you are turning to get an orbit go east

dark kestrel
#

oh my god i might actually make it back

Coming back to this thread, im trying to earn science but im only getting 1 or 2 per experiment

hallow otter
dark kestrel
#

so im trying to research temp and goo, but even for new research im only getting 1 or 2 points

#

im trying to do it in space near kerbin

hallow otter
dark kestrel
#

i am recovering, im on easy

hallow otter
#

This is very strange! I don’t know. Maybe give KSP a restart?

dark kestrel
#

the thing is, this has persisted

hallow otter
dark kestrel
#

damn

hallow otter
#

Sry

dark kestrel
#

youre all good bro dw

hallow otter
#

Thanks. I hope someone else can help.

that means you have already done that experiment in that situation

#

the more you do the exact same experiment, the less science you get from it

#

sometimes it completely stops giving science after the first time

#

just go farther to get more

#

or land on another biome

#

Some experiments are "biome specific" (like an eva report while in "low space"), meaning you can do them in different biomes and they will give you science in all of them.
Some aren't, and they don't care about the biome, only the situation (landed, low atmosphere, low space, etc)

#

biomes meaning Kerbin's waters, Grasslands, Deserts, Lowlands, Highlands, etc (there are more obviously)

dark kestrel
#

the issue i have though is that i have only just got to orbit for the first time and did my first space goo experiment which still gave me none

cosmic roost
#

because science doesn't care if you are on orbit or not, only if you were in space

dark kestrel
#

the highest i went before was still not space, the text for it was that the goo was still jiggly and cold i believe, but i have only just did the one in space that says the goo is hard

cosmic roost
#

after you are done with the mission you were doing go to the research center and click on "archives" or something like that (a folder icon in the top left corner)

#

This is so you can check which experiments you've done before
