Then I don’t know. If you set it as the target and burn towards it you might be able to get there. But you would need a lot of fuel. The easiest way to fix your problem would be to add one of the large antenna to your craft. Those can get signal from Duna to ksc. You would also need to get batteries to run the antenna

I know. Which is why I also suggested use the antenna with the gm measurement for units. To get a signal to ksc if you have already started the launch you would need to restart the mission.

So it is a one way trip. If you don’t want to use antennas. The only other way to do it is trial and error. And you would need to a lot of quick saves. So I think you could try burning from around kerbin when the prograde would extend to duna. At the right time. If it does not work load the quick save. And try again. But it is almost impossible to get to duna without maneuver nodes.

if you have a warp drive, sure that might work, in any other case, that's a horribly inefficent and won't work without infinite fuel and a ton of time on your hands

absolutely possible to do, just far more inefficent, you can still do the usual bruteforcing that you do when making manuever nodes, but with actually making burns for it instead of just changing the plan
