I have yet to find parts that fit the landing module, and no matter what I do, it doesn't look that good. I just want a starship-like smooth look

well a landing module isn't meant to go up conical like that. You're using the wrong part for a starship like look. You're judging a fish on it's ability to climb trees.

There's a different command module for smooth tapered looks.
