Some people still have performance issues. I say performance is twice as good as before, but still not perfect.

There are so many people that actually believe that so idk if your joking at this point
If they are using
then they are likely joking.
Anyway, I'm placing my bets for colonies in May or June.
id bet june since content updates are marketed to drive sales. It's an opportunity type thing so they know if they announce it right before summer then release it as summer begins they can multiply the people coming in after schools out
if it's any earlier id be:
A: surprised that it wasnt on a big day of the year
B: surprised it was so early since it seems like a massive feature with many many systems that need to be tested, tweaked, tested again, etc

I was one of them
It was like 6 different people we all worked on it in chat a long time ago to come up with something we could copy paste
Mainly bc we used to have like 10 ppl a day coming in to ask an unanswerable question ("is ksp 2 worth it yet?")
isnt ksp worth it yet

Im running all settings on max with a GTX 1660 and I5-9400F and 16G of DDR4 ram at 1080p res. My fps has yet to drop below 25 (when in very demanding conditions) since the 0.2.0 update. Also note my GPU is below minimum specs specification
So yes. 100% its worth it. The game has improved astronomically since the first version came out

ksp2=worth
i dont think its worth more than the original in its current state
maybe when it has interstellar
when it has colonies even itll be better by miles, maybe not with performance, but it's features will have surpassed ksp1
not if it doesn't include robotics and asteroids, two things that brought life to ksp1
although both of these are opinions, maybe somebody will need multiplayer before they call it better
if you think those features are more important than colonies idk what to tell you
i wouldnt pay $20*(CAD)*extra just for colonies a bit of graphical improvement, and a better tutorial system. just my honest opinion
its a brand new game...
has a bit more than that
i still prefer ksp1, but thats just my preference. in my opinion ksp1 is still more polished than ksp2 at the moment.

Not that there's really a strict definition for it all, but imo I'd def call this game worthy of being called a beta now instead of an alpha

Q: Is KSP 2 worth it yet?
A: Yes. The music and sounds make the game amazing, the effects are greatly made, the parts are great, the only real caveat are the bugs and performance. Currently with my PC (GTX 1050 Ti) i get around 15 fps in flight. But this is with a huge rocket (150+ parts). There are few game breaking bugs (trajectory lines disappearing), but this doesn't happen all the time and it will get fixed. The science mode is also amazing with the contracts being fun and the locations and lore being really cool.

Might want to add this to the response:
The current audience who would find the game and experience worth buying and playing are those who enjoy playing a game in the feature cycle of early access development and enjoy giving feedback as to how those features are developing.
Casual players who don't like such an experience would be better served by buying and playing KSP1.
This
I mean it does have a much more fun science and tutorial mode, so that might sway the last comment

The tutorials are already looking very good. It looks like it will be much easier for players new to simulation games who don't have the patience to RTFM.
Question: do you use Arch Linux, ||A user-centric GNU/Linux distribution that tries to Keep It Simple™️|| BTW?
Right now I use Sparky Linux, a respin of Debian. I also have XanMod Kernel installed, instead of the default kernel.
Might want to ask further distro questions on the Linux Thread, though. (I know, we participate in both.)

Considering adding something to the current message to talk about science, like the example I gave: #🔷ksp2_general message
It should stay objective and general not just talk about the downside that’s why
(And not talking about a too personal experience like giving a specific specs)
^^

Its way better than launch, but missing a lot of stuff from KSP1 still, specifically UI.

maybe it should be a status that tells you wants added in the most recent update, and or whats yet to come?
what about...
Development has been slow, but, since launch, performance has gone up considerably as bug counts have gone down and new content has been introduced; an average system can expect playable frame rates. Despite this, it is still often frustrating for enthusiasts of KSP 1 as some frustrating bugs still remain. At the moment, it could best be described as a very playable alpha. It has an approximate parity with unmodded ksp 1 through new mechanics balancing some that are still missing. Science mode, giving a "campaign" to the game expanding on the first game's "career" mode has been added recently. It is not yet considered entirely worth full price by the wider community.
you can edit that however you chose
That sounds alright, althrough "approximate parity" in this sense would speak to purely the quantity of the featureset and would be a bit subjective in that regard, in terms of performance it's still far behind too
(Behind where it "should" be I mean for comparison to KSP1, KSP2 is a next gen game and is never truly going to reach the potatoness of KSP1's performance requirements)

I recommend ksp 1 instead of 2
I recommend ksp 2 instead of 1*
Ksp 2 is nowhere near the promises they made, ksp 1 is still the better option
Ksp 2 has great soundtracks and stuff, i just cant enjoy it yet
I prefer ksp3

I have told you guys KSP2 was not worth it, look what happend now 🤷♂️
I didnt see you mention the layoffs in 2023
it was worth before, but current news, not now
(like was worth before bc it was going to get better, but now that its not happening, it means its not worth it now)
It was not worth it before, 50 bucks for a buggy non finished game
i did not mean that, i meant like before, it wouldve been worth it, not for the current game, but what wouldve come.
of course, if you measure it from only what the game is now, it makes sense to say its not worth it

Development has been slow, but, since launch, performance has gone up considerably as bug counts have gone down; an average system can expect playable frame rates. Despite this, it is still often frustrating for enthusiasts of KSP 1 due to the number and scope of bugs. At the moment, it could best be described as a very playable alpha. It does not yet have approximate parity with KSP 1.

All of you using !worth, there is a much better way to answer the questions: Do you agree with these statements. Though I hope I am not the only one who look forward to a time where they don't have to write this kinda of thing.

As of Friday the 28th of June, Intercept Games is no longer working on KSP2. We have no information about what might happen to the game or the IP in the future. Take-Two, which owns the game, has provided no information regarding the future of the project.
To our knowledge, unless another studio is assigned to continue working on KSP2, the game will receive no further updates and if you are considering buying it this should be kept in mind. At present, it could best be described as a very playable alpha. It does not have feature parity with KSP 1.
