have a cargo ship that needs to be a vtol, use jet engines in atmospheres, and also be able to work in a vaccum. The idea was to have the back engines for getting to orbit on kerbin or other planets, and have 4 wing units that swivel with engines for interplanetary and on moons. The swivel wing design doesnt work well and flops around, and idk what engines to use where. pls help me

it is part of my goal to create a minmus refueling station where crafts can refuel after leaving kerbin, low on fuel.

maybe for wings there could be a holder bearing thing that swivels freeley but provides support.

If your craft is light enough nuclear could work, or really any vacuum optimized engine like the aerospike or cheetah

Very, expensive to get to Jool and even more so to land

Its close in size to Kerbin munis the atmosphere so landing gets very expensive

so i rethunk the idea

in theory it works

i forgot to add RCS

but the idea is that 4 reliant engines lift you off the ground just enough that you can pitch up, disable the reliants, enable outer rapiers, and get to orbit

gonna not use outer rapiers they use all the fuel
