#Solar Pannels not working, even though I have direct sunlight.

how far away are you from the sun, and also right click the pannels to see if they are generating electricity
I mean it says they have 0.98 Exposure (with direct sunlight)
but for some reason it says only 0.003 Energy Flow
thats weird since when I tested it earlier, several times in this condition the power would be going up by a TON
even when I did another interplanetary situation
are you far away from sun/kerbol?
That's pretty close to Eeloo orbit. Solar panels are going to be very weak at that distance; power is proportional to the inverse square of distance.
Assuming that solar panel scaling is the same (i.e. 1.0x at the 13.6 Gm distance of Kerbin), you should only be getting 6.9% of theoretical solar panel output.
You really want RTGs or nuclear reactors at those kinds of distances.
this is the planet precursor starts you out on so im thinkin something off
also I have a ton of solar panels
I just tested it in another test save, the same ship works perfectly. I think the bug is that the solar panels are for some reason arnt being registered
EVEN with SAS on
Still need help btw
idk just put 50 gigantor panels
Thats not the issue, the game just isnt identifying that the panels exist with power. (Tested it in another save several times and it had way more than enough energy in the same scenario)
So a bug is happening ig
also im on a science mode save
Is there sunlight?
lol
oh im blind lmao
usually you can right click on the solar panel and it will say "Solar panel blocked by x" or something along those lines if they are being blocked by something
I think he did it but the math wasn't right
I still think it's the distance thing, 'cause you are getting power - just, not a lot. And that square law is a female dog, when it comes to falloff, ya'know.
^
Like i said before, I tested it several times in another save, and several times in this save, its this one instance that isnt working. It isnt the sunlight thats the issue, I have more than enough power.
^
ive redownloaded all the mods that I have, so it might have been one of them that was outdated or installed improperly or incompatible, so trying it again rn
Yeah, after fixing some of the mods it worked, still dont know what the issue was, but im now gaining like 57 power so
odd bug
If those are H2 (B9 Parts) tanks then the boil-off coolers take a lot of electricity
Press disable cooling, you will lose fuel but will have electricity
- It was already solved
- Those were not the issue, I made sure those wernt the issue. (I now get almost 60 electricity per second or whatever ksp measures in that shows the -60)
Delete the post then lol
