#my game wont save.

i managed to get two things docked in orbit for once and was very excited to save my progress but when i click save game it says it saved but when i check the save list its not on there the latest save was an hour ago

Same here.
Restart doesn't help. I have enough storage space and even deleting older saves doesn't help

i want to go to sleep but i dont want to turn my game off

What I have tried so far:

  • Run as Administrator doesn't help

  • Start a new Campaign didn't work first but I could do this by "Running as Admin"

  • Save a game in the new campaign worked

  • copy and paste the old savegame into the new campaign works for loading but then I can't save the game anymore

  • Revert to an older safe but I had to try a few to find one where I can still save the game.

What I did before the broken save:
I landed 11km south of the ||mun arch ||, undocked a (very broken) rover.
Got all my kerbals out the rocket for a group pic of the landing flag point and into the rover
Then I drove those 11km, got everyone out for a picture with the flag, wanted to put them back into the rover but couldn't board or interact with objects like the ladder anymore.
I then saved and reloaded for the last time.
My Kerbals could climb back into the rover but I can't save the game anymore.

I've tried all the savegames I have from the rover trip but the only save, where I can still save the game after loading is the one where the rover is still docked to the lander.

So I'll just take that savegame, send my rescue ship before undocking the rover and then try to reproduce the bug.

My conclusion so far:
Your safegame is broken because of a broken vehicle

i destroyed all the vehicles i had out in the solar system and i still have the problem

i just made a new campaign

@modern falcon if you ctrl+A on ur vesel, then do ctrl+C, start a new campaign, go into the vab and press ctrl+v and ur ship will return

I learned this from Scott Manley: you can copy/paste crafts (vehicles) in Notepad - that's how I'm going to save my crafts now because the library is confusing (file name workspace/vehicle name DazedKerbal ). You could do that too!

I just have a folder on my desktop for all of my KSP2 crafts. Just gotta remember to copy and paste them here

Same thing happened to me. I had to create a new save file

cos they don't delete they just keep stacking until you quit to main menu and manually delete

ahhh cause i tried doing some deep space stuff and i was on year 16 so i was wondering if that had to do with it

Yeah, I can't save either. I'm just docking space station parts together. I assume docking/undocking/EVA stuff is the problem.
