When I recovers my vessel and went to make a new one I saw my main kerbals from the previous mission where gone so if I keep using them I won’t have any more to use.

yeah I lost Jeb, bob and bill because of that

I think it's because of crew contantly re-freshing to 10 crew members, so they get lost in the roster forever

Same happens to me

I notice that it takes a while for the kerbals to come back again but they do come back

like it needs to cycle through to the kerbals again

you should be able to favorite kerbals

Launch all your kerbals in one ship, crash it, check the new roster. Call it the roster refresh rocket
