But seriously, 150 damage seem too much, the whole idea of which is the ability to deliver high amounts of damage with certain risk
I was planning to add canister 40mm shell for my mod but cancelled due to the complications with an ammo type that fires multiple non-hitscan projectiles. It suppose to deal twice as much damage as a shotgun - 128 with no AP and being Coalition exclusive item

regular grenades deal 50 deep dissue + 100 burn in a 3m explosion (so 150 in total) and some creatures have a weakness to burn damage
so 150 damage that nobody has weakness to but being impact with ability to snipe limbs kinda feels reasonable for me

A sabot can’t be 40mm if it’s in a 40mm gun. To use my hot dog comparison the sabot is the hot dog. It’s only made so you can shoot a projectile that is smaller than your barrel. The sabot is just a plastic jacket that aligns it in the barrel and cups the force of the propellant.
If I give you a pringles can and tell you to cram a hot dog and bun down it you can’t fit a bun between a summer sausage and the can

Sabots can be basically any shape question is why. Basically it’s just an adapter but unless you need a ton of propellant or have a fixed weapon size hence main gun on a tank you may as well just use a gun with a barrel the size of your projectile. So most sabots end up being for exotic shapes such as a dart with fins since no gun barrel can accept that without a sabot to make it cylindrical.
