Tin is a very good resource for electricians and diving tools early game, but there's no good way to nudge players to find any. Also for some reason, it's necessary for crafting the most reliable early game handheld weapon, the harpoon gun. I really don't understand this design choice, it makes it inaccessible for most playthroughs outside of purchasing, but then why have it be craftable at all. It's easier to build a stun gun and slash something to death. Our current roster of mining missions include:
- Titanite (Iron/Titanium) *
- Chamosite-Ilmenite (Iron/Aluminium/Titanium) *
- Uranium (duh) *
- Diamond (Carbon) *
- Galena (Lead) *
- Quartz (Silicon) *
- Langbeinite (Potassium/Magnesium)
- Thorianite (Thorium)
- Triphylite (Lithium)
- Pyromorphite (Chlorine)
* this material is crucial for upgrades and the most basic equipment
Adding stannite and maybe cassiterite to the mining roster, commonly handed out in the early game, makes engies' and guards' equipment available for fabrication.
Might as well just change the harpoon gun recipe as well. Just replace tin with aluminium or iron.
