new intake work
still feel eh about the intake
im gonna work on details everywhere else
if it still feels bad ill remove it
dunno, intake feels fine
Just need to do wear and tear now
i should probably tone it back a bit
=
this is gonna take a lot of work
okay, we may be getting somewhere
this reads so much better as like abyssal gear
just need to add a shoulder light and the upper arm is probably done
Think it's done
maybe this is better
I think I should darken the lower half to make the shoulder pad more obviously protruding
joint done
once this arm is done im doing item sprites for all these
hand prob wont have much changed
gonna invert the socket so it's more obvious which way the joint bends
Good progress
Thank you
silver part feels bare, dunno what to add though
new part
shortened the forearms for both to make them feel chunkier
elbow assembly for the industrial arms is lackluster but im not working on it till the elbow is assembled for the abyssal
ill add weathering to the abyssal casing soon
then i make the rear versions
then military arms
Just need to do that rear arm and then it’s onto the military arms
starting
this inside of the hand is both nice but also confusing
Current progress
Sorry for the slacking, gonna try to finish off these arms tomorrow
upgrading the elbow joint on the industria arms
rear forearm done
just added vent looking details in place of text
and remover the other text
Crazy good sprites
Looking back at ones in cybernetics those r lowkey worse
Stuff is just recolored organs and poorly drawn cyber limbs lol
Thank you
I’m trying to make sure everything has an identity and whatnot
And don’t worry it doesn’t overlap with your mod too much, nothing is a flat upgrade
Finished the lower section of the forearm
didnt make sense for pipes to run along the armpit
so i replaced it with more frame
next up it to put on the shoulder joint
and then i imagine the pistons on either side enable bicep rotation
gonna need to also do a cutout right where the shoulder ends i think, though currently im removing the slots
leaving it at this for tonight
just need to touch up the base rear hand
there
Might change the wrist joint to include pistons on either side
actually no since that'll show up on the attachments too
seeing if a drab military colorscheme fits it
while doing blue for navy makes more sense, the abyssal casing is already blue
and the monotone grey doesnt feel that engaging
add some passes of desaturation? and maybe some lighten sploches? so it's not so clean? idk
regarding the paint/green
trying to make heat sinks/large cooling panel type deals akin to the casing of the pulse laser
gonna remove the light grey and put the coalition insignia there
Today's progress
today's progress, I worked on an elbow spike and shading the heatsink vents
messed around with the shaping of the elbow and did some layer organization and lighting
trying a new grate pattern
had to shorten the arm further
expanded the heat sink a bit more
tweaked the front a bit
Think the next part is working on the bottom half
added definition to the plate
feel like the bottom green part and the frong green part still need better texturing
but this is all for today
for the hand im gonna tweak the industial one a little bit
next 3 weeks starting the 18th will be slow due to research, also will need to work on different implants
wrist looks like a wicker basket right now
but I'm trying to have it look like a physicorium weave or something
oh god im gonna have to shade manually\
dunno if i should try to put this on the elbow
blocking out the hand
It’s a military cybernetic arm right? Glad to see the progress on it, looks good. If you would add wear markings to it, I could suggest like bright metallic scars or dark spots from gunpowder
Wear and tear is the last step
But yes, it will have scratches and scorch marks
Looks great assembled
looking good
Managed to get the file on a USB, making the chainmail weave too fun to ditch
working on new elbow
trying a different angle
think it's done
the layers for the elbow spike darken when ontop of eachother for some reason
Sadly yeah, the exaggerated scale needed to properly show the texture and the coloration results in it looking like a waffle or loose wicker
it looks fine
worked on the hand and elbow some more
Wow that's coming along really nicely
bicep
assembled arm
Beefing up the shoulders
the larger uper arm
arm assembled with larger shoulder
working on detailing a panel
might work
idk if the angling helps
might scrap the current one and try less intense angle
might space them out a bit more and see if i can do lightning arcing between them maybe?
melee weapon arm? I do like the inspiration of the.. Matli Obsidian/Flint club? Mayan? I forgot the actual name and culture but I know of it.
Is there a particular reason for that as the design? Sort of thinking how will this benefit deep ocean combat, even if indoors/oxygen areas. Sort of spit balling how they'd know of something so "old" from earth to use as a design basis for this arm/weapon.
either way looks cool. I'd say go with the spaces and slight angle for sure. Makes it seem like it's supposed to catch/grab and cut/rip what it hits, like some snake fangs or deep sea turtle throats that have reverse fangs/tines to ensure what goes in, has a hell of a time getting out
idea is that it's a massive stun baton, with the offshoots being capacitors with the electricity bristling between them. due to the components I thought the macuahuitl could be a good thing to base it off
fair, I would have looked to Japenese armaments like the Kanabo (War Club), since you could have the spikes/stubs be sort of emitters or can be retracted for just pure blunt dmg, or extended to electrocute.
but I suppose it'd be a boring design, or could look like a "dildo" arm lol
honestly
it can work
just needs that alternate pattern look. So you have it say 90degrees on the bat, then the next row is rotated 45, then repeats back to the 90 degree look.
studs are good, though a bit small
body is shit
need to encompass a battery pack and maybe try to incorperate it into the arm more too
green or grey?
Grey cuz fitting with the overall contrast
Grey, I'd vote for, maybe you can add a few diagonal green strips? like a fat one, gap, thin one
nvm, I'm not good at arts anymore lol but rough idea. Go with the grey
