During ship-to-ship fight, both PvP and PvE, opponents should have an option to shooting down turrets. Currently this is implementable, but with certain issues: it require to go outside the sub to repair turret, which may not be fun during a fight. It also breaks bots' pathfinding
In this case I suggest adding linked item as a target for StatusEffect and attribute that allows go share ItemDamage, so, in this case, damage from turrets can be transferred to loaders on every "OnDamaged" trigger, while the linked turret remains technically intact but dysfunctional, so it can be repaired from the inside
Suggestion about turrets is more of an example of this mechanic, I think devs and modders can find more uses of it
#"Linked" target type and Turret damage (as example)

I have actually wanted something to force us to leave the sub to fix it
But perhaps turrets isn’t it
I did experiment with doors slowly degrade when in water which requires you regularly fix the airlock as well as cause flooding to cascade which is fun
I do recall barnacles that restrict turret field of view needing to be cut off as an idea
What if external cameras for the sub get dirty over time and need to be cleaned every hour or so?
Actually having sonar array break would work
Also make a second part of engine external that can break
Yeah, only the turret cameras, spotlights, and dedicated cameras would get covered in algae
Obviously can be disabled in the sub editor
I like the idea of the turret being hit leading to the loader taking damage, it adds a nice additional layer of sub-to-sub counterplay and gives a new job to mechanics and engineers in the heat of the moment.
It could extend to monsters as well, which might specifically target turrets with their AI.
