#Modload Sharing

I love barotrauma, I love mods, and I love playing with friends who may not have experienced the mods before. These things sadly dont always go hand in hand. While most people seem to be able to download the mods once when they join a lobby then never again, there is always a handful of the homies who seem to have to redownload a handful of mods everytime they connect, or I need to make a spreadsheet of all the mods with links so they can manually download them.

My Solution: An Arma 3 Style modload system, given we already have the ability to save custom modloads, now we just need to be able to export/import them. In Arma 3, you can assemble a modload, then export it into a html file, that when downloaded by other users, and imported to their game, automatically subscribes to and enbables the mods in said modload. This would be a huge QoL feature for those of us who play the game modded with some frequency!

you can already import/export them in the files, but yes autosubscribing to mods in a modlist when enabling it would be nice

You can export them, but sharing and having someone else import it does nothing, hence the request

importing modlists works

#

it just doesn't subscribe to the mods for you

So it doesn’t actually work for sharing the mod load

it... does

#

it is the best way to share a load order

Idk why you’re so stuck on the semantics of this, it’s clear you understood my request, continuing to go “no I’m right” just makes this thread confusing and crowded…

#

Plus it’s annoying as all get out, your right, it does share a load order, but not the modload, which as from the title & literally every message I’ve sent in this thread, is what is being suggested

it's not that I'm right, it's that you're wording it strangely

#

I do agree it's a good suggestion, it's not that I hate the suggestion

#

it's just that your choice of words confuses me

imwording it very specifically, a modload, is the load of mods, a load order, is the order at which they load. These are not interchangable, as you seem to think they are... and if subscribing to all the mods was trivial, then i wouldnt need to be making this suggestion, or the afformentioned spreadsheets with all the links so that people dont have to deal with redownloading them constantly just cause their new to the campaign

that is a good idea i appreaciate it

#

but still getting a modload to other players should be made as easy as possible, given were already halfway there with exporting load orders, it seems like a no brainer. Its always how i assumed the import/export buttons worked until we tested it, with pretty serious disappointment given we all come from arma, and they make it very easy
