#Sub salesman, can reset wires on the sub for a fee

I would like it if outpost/stations that had a sub salesperson would offer to reset the wiring for a fee. I don't know what would be a fair fee. Maybe 500 to 1000 credits? All I know is It would be a good way to save a run if you manage to dock while under all those problems. And would be an immersive way on top of it. (For those who care a lot about that.)

Reason why:
So we all have dealt with people who rewire the sub. Both small (Hey I've changed the lights color, this door doesn't respond to movement anymore) and large changes (The subs no longer moves, the back and fourth is reversed, The button to dock is swapped with the panic button, the o2 is hooked up to the fab, everything is borked).

And I'm sure some people have resorted to either disabling wiring. Which is understandable or checking logs every five minutes, but what happens when someone does rewiring while you are busy dealing with a hectic moment and you don't check? Or if you do, you can't catch them in time and you have either moved to the next post saving their rewiring OR you are almost done with a mission that took over and hour (sometimes 2) to do? In the cases where you don't have enough money to buy a new non-rewired sub. This happens decently often, and I don't mind trolling but losing a multiday run, or even 5 to 10 hours because 1 person thought it was funny. Well good for them, but to me it's like your save getting corrupted.

What do you guys think?

Ah I didn't see that post. Sad to see it's very complicated/too time consuming. I under the devs are very busy and I respect it.

This is one of those reponses on that page that make no sense. If you engineer is skilled enough to fix it (or make those improvements) then great! You won't need to use it, since you crew will be able to undo it. The button would be useless, unless the cap is trolling you, which if they were. I mean they'd be losing a valuable engineer.

However, if they aren't skilled, but the troll was then you could use it.

I know people do things just to annoy each other, or to troll each other I get it. I just don't see someone screwing over thier engineer by buying this

I had "veteren" engineers and they were struggling to figure out what and how this guy did it

Unless you are running a super complicated modded sub, its very easy to make it function again

If someone rewires the docking port then a quick fix is to just have a wire from nav terminal: toggle docking to dockingport: toggle state (or setstate cant remember exact) then a wire from dockingport: state out to custom hatch: set_state

Except it doesn't most of the time. Name 1 time you have had a fubar sub (because of wiring) and people repaired it back? We got it moving but no one, was wanting to or willing to try to get it back to 80% (let alone 100). We were stuck on a mission for about 3 hours.
Also i wanted to reset but they said no we can fix it. It was the 3rd or 4th time it had happened after like an 8 hourish session? We didn't

Since as stated it's a technical issue of why it can't happen (at least not currently without a ton of rewrites) i'll leave it. I'm not gonna delete in case someone has the same idea, that way if they type it in, they will (hopefully) see this.
