I would like to thank Trusted Seas for constantly going over the top with exciting campaigns, different servers/games, and a wonderful community. There's always someone to talk to, someone to play games with, and the community is multi-national so the playtimes are always available. Barotrauma being their main thing doesn't stop them from hosting over games like Project Zomboid or 7 Days to die, but anything Barotruama, this is the place to go!

We use one of the top 3, our server cost is about $1,500 yearly and is funded by our Patreons

OVH, Reliablesite, Oracle, AWS are all great options, but keep in mind Baro is single thread only, hosting servers with Xeons/Epyc CPU's won't work for larger modded sessions

#

Cheapest server you'll get (without OS License, like Linux) that I'd recommend from any provider is about $65 monthly

#

Strongly, strongly recommend using a bare metal server vs a cheap VPS, if the cost is under $60 monthly without commitment it's a no-go, you ideally want Ryzen 5000 or 12th gen Intel

#

We've actually got the best server of any Baro community, and host for other communities, it's an 8,000mbps server and a 5600x

If you're using a game service that "hosts" barotrauma, you're getting screwed, it's usually v2 version Xeon's from 2011 with not enough performance

It's an absolute ripoff and the performance is terrible, minimum you should do is a VPS, Bare metal is strongly suggested for larger sessions

Baro requires very, very good single thread performance that these game hosting providers don't have.

If you aren't willing to learn Linux, or pay monthly for a Windows server OS license (It's like a normal PC) then just self-host off your own computer

#

For example, a 5600x core from a single VPS (But please don't use a VPS if your community gets bigger) is better than 8 cores from a Baro game provider, as the game is mostly just single threaded

#

Baro honestly sucks to host for because it's expensive and you have to work with datacenters that have more niche consumer CPU products, it's why our server is $1,500 annually, and the cheapest server I'd recommend is $600-$800 annually (If you actually run large sessions that aren't just Vanilla)

Trusted Seas (My community) offers our server hardware, it's $30 monthly for access to our 5600x, 8,000mbps connection, and as much RAM as needed within reason. But it's probably out of your budget, it has Windows Server 2022, just like a normal PC, and comes with a dedicated IP address. We host for #1020519716953010326 and @spring bear's It Spreads, and creators of Barotraumatic host for our community on the hardware.

Basically VPS pricing without the downsides of a VPS

There are people who are happy to help you with configuring a dedicated server, but the documentation that's out there definitely isn't the best

It's definitely something you can learn, I was a newbie at it but with a bit of studying, research and lots of asking for help, I got there

Oracle (Basically a worse AWS) offers you $300 in credit for the first month for a server, but a windows license isn't affordable (If you run 750 hours a month, Windows license itself is nearly $1,250) it's excellent at learning to practice hosting on as it's literally free

We aren't a clan, we're a community. One that people can choose to come and go freely.

Trusted Seas - WC's Campaign Server
We are a campaign server currently running a heavily modded longform campaign with most of the major difficulty increasing mods. Barotraumatic, Neurotrauma, Dynamic Europa, and Mechtrauma. We play SAT/SUN/WED, 7PM EST on Wednesdays and flexible on the weekends. I like to maintain a relaxed work environment around the sub so the server is technically casual but with the mods the gameplay itself is anything but casual or relaxed. We do have a few rules, check the server description in game but basically no racism or homophobia etc etc. All welcome regardless of age or experience.

We're working on upgrading our $1,500 yearly US server to even nicer hardware pretty shortly.

That will allow us to host 22x 32 player sessions at once and further allow us to provide free hardware to those who need it.

This will up our costs to around $2,800-$3,000 annually.

Our US server will most likely move to 128GB RAM, 2X NVME storage, and a 5900x, alongside a 2gbps connection.

Nobody has the tools or technical team that we do, from custom mod managers, extremely simple web panel access, very powerful single core performance, all the way to the best technical experts in the BT community.

We provide hardware to most English and Russian communities, looking to provide a better hosting experience to your members, or want to host with Trusted Seas itself? Whichever option you choose, we're here to help.

We provide our services for free, and are funded entirely by donations.

They are your best bet at Baro server hosting as Barotrauma works a bit different than other games and regular server hosting companies don't have the hardware focus that is needed for barotrauma, so you need a dedicated baro server, which is either custom or trusted seas 😎
