The Elizabeth Morgan case was a local and international child custody contest between Elizabeth Morgan and Eric Foretich over their daughter, Hilary Antonia Foretich. It lasted from 1983 to 1997 and took place in Washington D.C. and later in Christchurch, New Zealand. It cost the parties over $4 million in legal fees.

My sister recently showed me a movie called "In the best interest of the child". I found that there was a similar case but all of the videos are a bit aged.

I think the judge was very suspicious regarding the inital trials so I was wondering if this channel could do an in-depth video on it so it will be modernized. I don't know if this is channel appropriate so feel free to delete this post and I will understand entirely.

I remember there was a TV movie made abut this case. Elizabeth Morgan was a plastic surgeon and the author of three non-fiction books. For whatever reason, she thought her daughter’s father was abusing her during visitation (they had divorced a while back) so she sent her daughter to New Zealand along with her grandparents.

When the judge ordered Morgan to produce the child, she refused and was jailed on contempt of court charges. If I remember right, it was about two-three years before she was finally let out of prison. Hilary was eventually located in New Zealand. That’s the last I’ve heard and I don’t know of any updates.

But it's a bit dated so I was hoping Mr.Ballen would make a modern telling of the story.
