When my husband and I first moved into our first owned home in 2016 strange things happened in that first year. While my husband and his dad were picking up new furniture I was home waiting alone with the cats. I heard three loud knocks at the door. Thinking they were home and already unloading and couldn't grab the knob I ran to open it. Only to be met with nothing. They weren't there. Strange I thought, I brushed it off. Then came Halloween, I found out the next day that my dear friend from an MMO I play took his own life early Halloween morning. After this my computer would turn on by itself almost every day for a few weeks. The button is located nowhere where a cat could tap it. Not long after that one night we fell asleep on the couch. At 3:30/4 am I heard three loud knocks on the large porch window right behind us. Woke me from a dead sleep, him too. I could have sworn it was my friend but as I sat and thought about it and knowing three knocks means a demonic entity, it couldn't possibly be. Not to mention the time of day the knocking occured. Shortly after connecting the dots to a demonic entity I saged my entire house. Nothing happened until a few months after where the knocking began again. So every few months I would sage the house all over again to keep whatever it was away. It was definitely persistent, we lived there until 2021 and I had to keep that up every few months for the entire time.

I wonder if the place just had a demon or if it somehow knew about your friend and was trying to trick you. Or both, I guess

Wow. I’ve had some experience with knocking. It was at random places where I was walking by a building and I would hear three very loud knocks behind a door. It happend a few months and then stopped.

My brother dated a girl in the late 90s. Her and her mom moved into an old farmhouse. The realtor told the mom the house was haunted but she didn’t seem to mind. One thing the realtor said was if you hear knocking at the back door, specifically, don’t answer it! It will let whatever is knocking inside. There was already weird stuff going on, my brother said she told him there time where there would be three loud knocks certain evenings but they never did open the door. They didn’t live there long.

I always figure I’d treat any haunting or paranormal activity with believing to be unfriendly because I’d think evil would deceive you into thinking it was friendly and once that goal was achieved would reveal how it tricked me

I was talking to my daughter today (now 22) about a spirit she saw as a little girl around age 6. Not only that but also some other things happening around her at that time.

We lived in a new home that was a subdivision built basically on old crop fields. Her bedroom was on the second floor.

Anyways, I was talking about joining this chat and three knocks. For the first time today she mentioned three knocks every morning at her bedroom window when she was around 6. I asked her why she never shared this with me and she thought she did.

I may have been deployed overseas during this time because I was gone almost 2 years of her life after 9/11. Anyways, I pressed her for more information.

She told me that every morning when she woke up and before school, when it was still dark, she would hear three knocks on her window. She went to see what it was, looked out, and nothing was outside. It happened again, she investigated again, and eventually she started knocking three times back. She said this went on every morning when we used to live in that house.

I asked her why she kept knocking back. She replies, “I thought they were birds like in the movie Cinderella saying hello to me. It was my way of saying hello back.” I was like “Wow” 😳. She obviously knows now it wasn’t birds 😂. I thought I’d share since I’ve never heard three knocks but apparently is very common.

Wow, thankfully she never opened the window and invited whatever it was inside. That's intense though. And yes three knock and three scratches/claw marks on the body means a demonic entity. When you experience marks on you it's an attack and it's the result of it slashing at you. At first people experience a white hot burning sensation and when they investigate you'll see three red scratches. This can also mean a poltergeist as well as an angry spirit, which usually over times manifests itself into a poltergeist. These cannot possess but they can do a lot of damage

This is the first I have heard about three knocks being demonic. I don't think I have ever experienced it before. I'm a newby when it comes to paranormal stuff.

I researched it to satisfy my own question. It does not have to be demonic. It can be multiple reasons. However, the common conclusion on most post seem to be to get a reaction or attention from the recipient.

Responding tends to invite more activity that you may not want. It kind of makes sense.

If I died, I missed the announcement to ride the light in, all my friends and family already got vacuumed into the light, and now I’m stuck on earth 🌎 … I can see how I’d want someone to interact with. Maybe an acknowledgment by anyone that I’m alive - just on a different level.

When i was a teenager, for months, i would hear 3 taps every night on my second story window. Nothing there. It was when i started having sleep paralysis and saw a couple other things. None of these things happen since then... I think it was something that was feeding off of my negative energy, as i had a lot of hardships in my life at the time.
Ive never read a story so sinilar to mine.

So there are correlations, but as far as I know my daughter did not have many hardships. She just had weird things happen around her that scared her and she would come running. Her mom told her she was imagining things, I told her that whatever it is she believes happen, I believe that she believed it. She felt so relieved just to hear that. The conviction on her young face was proof enough for me to have her back. As a father.
