What is it you're talking about? Is it the texture selection outlines/grayscale overlay? What about them?
Most likely ray continuation skipping the surface when discarding the transparent plane on top of it. If you have overlaping planes that would usually z-fight in raster, rays will discard the transparent region from the cutout texture, add a tiny bias and continue the ray. This so happens that the bias misses the actual grass plane in behind the transparent quad too.
Solves if you tag them as decal_Static π

nono, basically old roblox used to have 1 (one) texture for everything of a specific color, that was colored in, we made it to where it just has seperate textures for each individual meshwe dk if you have any ideas for it that mayyy be better than that or if thats just the best option
Hmm interesting. I guess it will depend whether the textures will have stable hashes for you to replace. A better approach would be if you could make the game use the same white texture for all and use vertex colors to tint the objects, but assuming the game was alreayd authored using colored textures from a trimsheet, it might not be an easy change to "find out" what was the object's intended color to convert to vertex colors.
I see it repeats the same green textures as if they were different so I'm assuming the same texture != same hash
yeah its making a custom texture each time before sending it off to remix
(only downside is that any mesh with the same shape and size share a texture still but those are few and far in between, mostly for like, windows etc)

It is common for shaders to declare an uniform global buffer of lights that can be bound in the shader to render, so the shader code just loops all bound lights and render. It is an array, meaning it has a fixed size, and one of the reasons some games expose a "Max Lights" quality settings.
@rose oasis's wrapper might streamline a lot of it but I assume you still need to interpret the lights format from the OG game

the wrapper for this part was carried over from xoxor's stuff. it's essentially just template code for getting API lights to work. i don't remember changing much of it. LLMs find it very easy to work with though

Did you do static analysis of the exe? That's how I got it to work with Dark Souls which does some weird array stuff for area names
I actually managed to hook it in the right spot but I haven't been able to figure out how to update settings on the remix side lol
I personally implemented a "level options" feature in my runtime that generates conf files based on levels and you can adjust them. It works with an asi patch that writes the current level ID to a file and RTX Remix then reads that and loads/generates configs. Could maybe be integrated a bit neater but it works.

Yes π It does have a wealth of knowledge from the training dataset, and my years of experience as a sw developer gave me a good BS meter. For 5.3 β¬ a month, I'm really happy with it (even with the Flash model, since the token reductions for Pro -guh).

fake camera is a temporary solution to achieve path tracing and even then it's not accurate because of shaders rendering improperly in remix

Has anyone encountered an issue where its just really laggy unless you enable sky min z threshold set to1 + reproject sky to main camera?
the sky min z threshold prevents the reproject from gobbling up VRAM until it crashes
i could not just get it to not gobble up VRAM unless i do a very very specific sequence that requires some settings to be on, and it is annoying if your gonna have to do it everytime you play
Finally got the noise effect to trigger even out of menu. GPT 5.5 was able to do it. Before the noise effect would only properly trigger during 3D gameplay, not on level transitions or out of the menu
Thinking to go to Codex because what I've seen of 5.5 actually works better than 5.4
Plus the noise effect flickered in for like a frame on camera cuts which wasn't good

Hey, thanks alot for helping me fix it, since I tried deleting all settings to see since if it was default it could be some settings affecting it, after a bit, I realized it was this weird heat like texture that when uncategorized it would blast the camera with light, categorized it to UI and now I could just use sky min z threshold at 1 at all times

Finally got the shards in Manhunt working. They were untextured before and not picked up by RTX Remix. In case people need to do something similar, I recommend telling AI to put a draw call slider into an imgui menu with an export function with all relevant information. It should just bind a placeholder texture to whatever draw you've selected so you can slide up and down and find it. Then you can pin point exactly what needs work. Much better than doing captures/traces and telling it "find the shards" (it never found them)

@crystal kiln Sorry for the ping, but I thought you might be able to help me out. I've been thinking about implementing some sort of player brightness probe for Manhunt. The original game has a lot of fake shadows placed everywhere and I thought it would be cool if I could somehow make the actual path traced lighting hooked in to the games player visibility logic instead.
Trying to implement the AI said there is no real way to this though since the lighting values on the player character are just screenspace, so you couldn't accurately sample them fully.
Do you think this could be possible to implement without doing crazy modifications? (aka could an AI do it)

the USDA files were pretty weird, the road beneath me would be invisible in the RTX remix scene editor but some geometry fully intact, sometimes capturing 400 ish assets, sometimes 300, sometimes 64
The best bet is to do static analysis on the exe through bootstrap and Ghidra and see what the AI can find

Yeahh no, bounce lighting is the arch nemesys of these old shadow-based stealth games. It would be more a thing about carefully relighting and reworking the scene textures than a blanket solution that applies to the whole game. Things like using more metallic shiny surfaces that eats up diffuse lighting, use more spot lights instead of omnidirectional sphere lights, and so on.
That said, Remix does have mechanisms to attenuate visibility such as used for volumetrics during Froxel integration. If you can confirm 100% that it is purely a screen space effect, like a gbuffer mask, in theory you should be able to expose that mask as a lighting attenuation mask for the remix API to use during direct/indirect integration. That or make Remix compatible with reshade and apply such a mask as a post processing effect, though UI will be included, unless you make remix interop nicely with ReShade before the UI pass 
If it is not gbuffer but rather vertex color effect baked in the meshes, then you might be able to toggle the "Vertex Color is Lightmap" setting off and maybe get some decent results
