Got it working by using an HL2 rtx.conf and the launch options from the Dark Messiah project (Thanks wiltostech)
-tempcontent -novid -dev -windowed -w YOUR_WIDTH -h YOUR_HEIGHT -dxlevel 70 +mat_dxlevel 70 +mat_softwarelighting 0 +sv_cheats 1 +r_frustumcullworld 0 +r_3dsky 0 +mat_drawwater 0 +map_background none +r_portalsopenall 1 +mat_very_high_texture 1 +mat_picmip 0 (Some of these launch options are rendered useless due to the build being older than DM)
I've only tested the Office level on Arena mode and parts of the first story level
Updated rtx.conf
(Decals no longer tagged as 'decal' now allowing texture swaps, shiny floors should be fixed, various edits to light translation, eyes should be fixed except for certain "cutscenes")
Working on PBRifying the whole game, so far a good chunk of the first level is done. Some textures will obviously need emissive maps and some of the original lighting needs to be restored but otherwise I like it

Instant freeze right after game beginning. Fresh remix and conf from moddb page.
Not sure where the moddb files are from, I didn't upload them, try the launch options and the rtx.conf from the first post in the thread, if that doesn't work try my latest rtx conf
Also heres my ingame video settings
Fixed freeze with first conf but getting blank car scene after lab excape.
This is in the beginning where jessica drives you from the lab? Something is definitely not right lol

Beautiful! Glad it started working. Also one thing I noticed when running the game in DX7, it forgets your advanced video settings every time so you have to change the texture and model quality back to high. It might be one of the launch options that does that though, using 'host_writeconfig' in console doesn't seem to make the settings stick
And of course we're still fighting the back face culling, I just gotta find my way around the engine.dll and make the edits, sound simple enough lol
