was not able to afford all of them, but there's a couple I could snatch at this time
also, even though this is used for body2.jpg, its only the mustache that's used, the nose and eyes are different but the mustache and lips match perfectly to my comparison,
someone sent me it before, but it went under my rader for that reason, the entire face didn't match
same with this guy I was sent another angle of him and thought it wasn't him, but this is the correct photo, his eyes is just brightened up ingame
a lot of these I actually found using a couple AI searches, apperently these aren't really indexed on 3d.sk themselves, although they can be found on there, so you could search through the entire site and its assets (as I have) and never see them, I actually had to search other versions of the sites such as beta.3d.sk or jp.3d.sk and then just copy the URL to the regular site
some of them you've already found, but now we actually have links to both their headscans, and head photo references
and some in full resolution because I bought some 🙂
still no luck on Benjamin walker or the SS officer
they are the ONLY human characters left to find in the game
I'm also working on a project file in blender of the base model for the class D that has two UV layouts, one for these headscans, and the other for the model's UV, that way we can easily transfer one to the other, should help for modding in the far future for anyone that wants to add new headscans from 3d.sk to the game
but it will also help with easily remastering these textures with ease
I'm also working on remastering the clothes for these characters as well, all done in a PSD format, here's what I got so far, still a W.i.p.
I decided finishing the models for the classd.b3d is one of the more strategic things to tackle, its one of the lower quality assets in the game and one that really shows its age, its also an asset that is reused in lots of places in the game, such as the nuke site, 035, 970, 008, and of course the intro.

all of the models here are from gameguru, but as we've found out, gameguru, and the game creators asset packs actually use stock images and other CC images to make up their texture
the Class D model was actually a prision inmate model in the FPS Creator model pack for gameguru, and the face scan they got for those come from 3d.sk a site that sells face scans, and has been since ~2004
this doesn't mean the SS officer face is on 3d.sk, but theres a possibility that they grabbed a face from there, its where they got all other faces from

It's been taking a while but I AM working on it
I've decided to just remaster all things that use this face at this point, I was already 90% done the class D shirt texture, and I just finished making the emily ross badge without the text, and redid the QR code found on the nostalgic badge
Now I'm trying to identify the font, and then I'll have a perfect reconstruction in a PSD file, people can then use that to make their own custom badges if they want to
but then I'll be able to use that to reverse engineer the burnt textures onto the nostalgic badge, and that'll be the cherry ontop for the video
the video will be really quick to put together at that point

I appreciate that, and yeah D-9341 has probably been the biggest pain in the ass so far besides maybe the 8K ending screen, I find it very rewarding once the assets are done though, and I plan to go as far with it as I can; for the remaster obviously some of it like the v1.3.0 badge isn’t in the game anymore, but when we have the assets used and a PSD file for the current one, I felt it was worth remastering, Hell. Even Bateseee’s video uses that version of the badge, it’s a part of history for the game’s lore
So I was trying to see if SCP:CB can run in 4K, I did up a short video test that switches between the exact same frame in 1920x1080, 2560x1440, and 3840x2160, and there's definitely a clear difference, I'm not sure If its true 4K, or if maybe all resolutions are displayed at a lower resolution and than scaled up, but it is differently more crisp and a clear difference between the 3840x2160 setting and the 2560x1440 setting.
I've made two versions of this video, one for 4K monitors, (the first one.) and one designed for 1080p monitors, (the second one.) because I know probably not everyone here will have a 4K monitor.

I've tested this with RTX remix too, and it does work in 3840x2160, it might even look better if you put the DLSS and what not at their highest settings, I just don't have a PC that powerful for that, once I visit my friend with his 4090 I might put his PC to the test for that specifically.

in short, I might've fixed the culling issue with lights, I was able to set a setting for 079's screens so they emit light on his keyboard, it looks really cool. and I fixed 035's animation so it seamlessly transitions with his idle animation.
I've recorded most of it, its been a pain in the ass troubleshooting RTX remix, Blitz3D, Bandicam recording at a lower framerate as shown, and other things
but I'll try to show all I can when I can
Alright, this short showcase video shows everything I mentioned, 035's seamless animation, light culling, RTX in 4K. and 60fps, everything except 079's screen which I'll show later on, this is also the best recording/video showcase we have of the mod up until this point, its the first one in native 4K with 60fps.

I just realized the self-viewmodel in uer doesn't work with remix huh
Might be able to, theres also a setting in the developer menu for RTX remix for viewmodels simular to the anti-culling settings, I just didn't have a reason to try them out because vanilla v1.3.11 doesn't have viewmodels or playermodels

Yeah UER doesn't work with the Vanilla mod
the rooms were too heavily changed I think the hashes are just entirely different
079's room has an elevator, even small things like the corner junction in heavy containment has an extra room added to it
so those would need to manually be relit as well.
Here's an edited recording I did of UER with the RTX mod files from Vanilla, it really doesn't work with backwards compatibility to Van v1.3.11
I also wanted to mention, @oak dirge after doing it again just now, I do remember trying this in the past, both the mod files and just a fresh install of RTX remix, I had some issues with normal textures and Jevadiah gave me his, I had a video on it here if you want to see.
I'm tempted, and I'm going to try UE, because I remember UE being a lot closer to Vanilla than UER, and I want to see if the results are different there
I wanted to mention as well, UER is actually vastly different functionally than Vanilla CB, I actually learned this while implimenting 035, I had one of the devs from UERM help me because the animations were just not working with 035, and it was then when he compared the source code that he found the two different versions of the game work in wildly different ways, they may be in the same engine, but even little things like how 035's height is calcuated were completely redone in a different way to optomize the game
UER may be more optimized than Vanilla, but it does so by changing a lot
I have no problem working on a mod for both though, It's like the difference between Beef and Chicken, I like both. but I don't consider one a replacement for the other, they both have their own charm, pros and cons, and I'd love to see both be remastered.

Long story short, rooms that are unchanged such as room2ccont can transfer over for lighting, albeit itll still have the added lights from the UE mod ontop of the RTX mod, so lighting should be redone anyhow
but for most areas, that have been completely reworked, nothing transfers over

3D printer is working again
I've been busy doing a lot of maintenance/organizational work, my workspace, Google drive, I'm cleaning up space for both the archive, and to have a more clean and effective workspace going forward, it's been taking a bit to do so, but it'll make working on big projects like this one a lot easier, The 3D printer I needed to fix for a number of reasons, it'll have to be used for the extension of the radio, I have to fix some of the buttons on the S-Nav with epoxy, and a bunch of other reasons, making 3D printable files in general (not RTX related)
but i'll work on lighting rooms once more once I'm done clearing space; shouldn't be too much longer

I know I've been quiet, but I have been working on stuff, I've been working on remastering the label photo for 035's chamber, I figured it would be easier to recreate it from scratch than source a higher resolution image of it, or upscale it, and this is how it looks so far. I've also been trying to finalize the high poly model for distribution to anyone who wants it, I plan to make a 3D printable version of the mask.

this model is also ready to be 3D printed, gonna try it now

I'm making two different 3D printable versions, one that's the same size as the original, slightly too small to fit on anyone's face, and one that is slightly larger, can be actually worn as a mask

some lighting is really hard to do since for some reason Unity kind of sucks ass with shadows on these rooms
lighting is always finicky and for some rooms i needed to use an excessive amount of lamps/ceiling lights to light the room fully but i think the finished product looks pretty good for most of these

The SCB Vanilla RTX mod works on the steam deck now
With some tinkering involved
But I finally managed to get it running with ray tracing
Of course, and to be expected; it runs very sluggish. But my plan is to chisel away at it and try to find the best settings to make it run OK. My goal is that, if I can get it running decently on a steam deck, a device not meant to be powerful enough for Ray-tracing, then it should fare better on computers with lower end RTX cards, like 20 series
But also, it’s a novelty thing. I’m so pleased to have gotten it working

btw i've never 3d printed anything (i don't have one 😭) and i always wanted to know how the texture is

nah, it depends on the print settings, and the printer, plastic type, I'm just using PLA which is what most would use for 3D printing, because it prints in layers if you have a really fast print it can result in layer lines which can be noticable
this is actually why I decided to print the mask upright rather than face down, and I made the printer take longer per layer, making a smoother result
you can barely notice the layer lines on the mask using that method, infact, its only noticable on the chin and top, which are easier to sand
if I printed the mask lying down, thost lines would be noticable on the forehead and nose, which are harder to sand
it turned the 9 hour print into a 19 hour print, but I think it was worth it
while it doesn't feel like porcelain anymore, it still feels sturdy and good
And I don't blame ya, 3D printers are expensive AF
I could only afford one because I got extreamly lucky while playing beer pong at one point

I was thinking the generic map pieces, like the intersections, hallways, corner junctions
I might not be able to do all of them right away, like all zones, but focusing on those first will open up the mod to being more playable
I think the generics would be good first since they are duplicated alot
starting with light and working further in
The hardest part (because there’s so many of them) is capturing and naming the captures
If there was a way to name them in game it would be easy, but that’s still broken for some reason no idea why
I was just typing into a separate box then copying and pasting
Yeah the only issue is that they are usually named like capture_2025_05_02-27 or whatever it’s normally default named, and when you capture a different room it still will have the same name
One solution I’ve found is deleting characters from the default capture name and writing down which means what room on a note
If any of that makes sense
you can't type in the box but you can highlight and paste
so I would tab out, put the name in google, copy it, then paste it in remix and do the capture

I have offically cleared up enough space on my google drive for an SCP Archive of what we found/find, I have started working on said Archive, its split into two sections, SCP:CB, and SCP Wikidot basically finds that are specific to both, although duplicate files can be found in both and among different places in the archive to make finding files easier.

There's also a ton of stuff I'm putting that even you guys have not seen, I've put the .stl file for the 035 mask print I did, I have 3D models for 173, including the room that I created to look like the "untitled 2004" location, I have original videos I took in 2017 when I first got the 049 mask, as well as a 3D model of the raw scan of the 049 mask for download
And I'm going to put a lot more
its been a lot of work, and its gonna be a lot more work putting what we found, but when that's done. any future findings will be easy to document and archive going forward.
I forgot to mention this last night, but I want to also make videos both breaking down updates made on the RTX mod, and videos talking about the sources of some of these textures, one of the biggest reasons why is A. to get the archive in more peoples hands, and more importantly B. have a written documentation of links to the sources, right now we only have them on this discord and I have them on another private DM discord.
that will come much later on though.

and also D-9341, but that goes hand in hand with the archive

I don’t really have a solid answer to it, I’ve already remastered the texture with the original, and it was already in the game since like 2012 so people who know have already seen it, I’m of the opinion that real gore should never be endorsed; (for the same reason you can’t own eagle feathers) but I share the opinion the real gore can have more of an effect in the horror aspect in a horror game.
So I’m more leaning towards, yes? Maybe? But that can definitely change in the future; I’ve spoken with tons of people who worked on the original game and their opinions on it, Vain Brain who made the NTF mod and other mods replaced it entirely, Regalis shared the same opinion as me and always kept it in the game no matter what, many others have different takes on it; as said before; people have many differing opinions on the matter
I think what I said earlier also shapes my opinion
I don’t really want this dog to fade into obscurity and be forgotten, good or bad the story may be; the images inclusion in SCP CB is how many people learned about the tragedy, and maybe many more can learn about it with it’s inclusion into the remaster; good or bad, it’s apart of SCPCB’s development and history.

Alright, here's the progress made today, as well as what I'm going to do which is lighting rooms
The remastered texture and .PSB file for the Class D's body as well as the other ones for Scientist and Janitor are like 95% done, just minor adjustments that need to be made and the text on the back
There's adjustment groups in the PSB file to change the color and brightness to match depending on if you want the Janitor or Scientist
They are remastered to a 6K texture, why 6K? 6K is the best sizing for the headscans, meaning we have the full 4K headscans, if we use those for the head of this texture, they would fit on a 6K texture, any bigger would stretch quality of the headscan, and any less like 4K would lose quality.
I also have an adjustment group/layer for removing the shading from the body to make it more albedo which will be helpful for us in making a PBR workflow for the RTX mod

1123 took forever because you have to guess where the WWII bunker lights are, you have to light the containment room twice, because it has the event with a duplicate room, plus the lighting needs to be identical to sell the effect, plus the lightmaps have like three different temps of lighting and 6 lights in the room

but most rooms, such as hallways or intersections are easy and take only a couple minutes

I want to write a custom script for the game for NV googles though
NV goggles in RTX are as of right now, useless. putting them on just puts the overlay overtop of what you'd normally see, as NV goggles affect the fog and lightmaps in the base game
I want to write a script if I can that puts a mesh of some kind on the player's location at all times when wearing the NV goggles, that way we can use that hash to attach a light and make a convincing Night vision looking experience
thats just an idea I came up with though, no idea how viable it could be

ive had moments where my camerafog which was set to 99999 before putting on the goggles (randomly, not always) get set to a lower value like 0.5 when putting on the goggles in RTX

been playing this game almost since release
