wow
so this proves that rtx remix doesnt only work with ancient times games
maybe far cry 3 someday
that one looks familiar to me for whatever reason
it's from September 2023, lol
whaa
I have downloaded it manually
Multiple times
Both from git
And the app
you're installing it to and running the 64 bit copy of the game?
run the exe directly
I am running the game exe
i meant instead of through Steam*
sorry
but yeah, if you are i truly have no idea why that'd be happening
aaaaaalright
so
first thing's first
I'm incredibly stupid
I completely forgot that the game had separate exes in different folders
nOW THE GAME ITSELF KEEPS CRASHING
So kim
Where exactly did you install remix?
This is where I'm installing it
need Kim's footage first to compare
My stills look almost as bad
64 bit
using the files from the .trex folder
Yeah I did that too , but look at my video
Even staying still doesn't look as clean as your's
i'm running at DLSS Quality from 1440p
it's about the same between ours
there's still major issues here. it's like there just aren't enough samples per pixel
also that weird striped pattern: it comes back every time you load the game. you have to ignore all of these:
this config may work for that, but probably not
the game's too unstable for there really to be a project
it works, it's just unstable
any improvements with v0.5.1 perhaps?
how can i install it though?
only RR
download BeamNG through Steam, go to Properties and change it to the dx9 beta (0.4.x)
use the downloader in #remix-beginners-guide, copy all files from the .trex folder into the 64 bit game files
download rtx.conf, place it in the root game directory (one folder above the 64 bit files), then run the game
0.4? damnn
yup
doesnt it work on newer versions?
my game is crashing
you only copied the files from .trex?
bruh i didnt even install the remix
and its crashing
i open it and it i get the beamng has stopped working
run the game through Steam first if you haven't
i dont have it from steam😅
well, i can't help there
well np man
Is this project alive?
not really but you can give it a try if you want
there's not much to do with it
since it's such a new game, there's a ton of assets to replace. there are also a lot of visual bugs. an insane amount really
it's not worth messing with until that's resolved
i followed everything
and
it crashed for me aswell
through exe and through steam
Theres no damn way beam ng works with rtx remix
Does this just work with an ancient version?
The game has good textures. If we slap PT on its all done?
Ok nvm
Scandalous
Beam ng is one of those games that would look straight Like real life with proper RT
another issue is that would be compatiblity
.
,
.
So wait when was this game made?
2013
But it still gets major updates every 3 ish months
So modern versions just won't work.
2015*
2015 game working with remix is crazy
yup
and the version we're using is from late 2016 i think
You can also read this update in our blog. last dx9 version
Dies it work well?
it uh... works
it still looks like this @strange ibex
transformer RR cleans it up a bit more, but it's still complete chaos with all kinds of artifacts
Ah
Very cool) Довольно круто
Угу, пасибо
perfect but wish it works proper with beamng xd
is tthis still being worked on
doesnt look like it is
So sad tbh
0.4.0.6-dx9 - Last version to support DirectX9 Graphics Cards
0.14.0.5-dx10 - Last version to support DirectX10 Graphics Cards
while this is a neat demo for remix, it doesn't really have any real-world use
beamng versions this old are pretty limited and have a lot of issues
the only ones that work are ancient beamng versions?
game is pretty intensive by default
with all those realistic physics
HAHAHAHAHHHAAAHA
We want beamng rtx
We need that 3-5fps gameplay
😭 it crashes on latest remix

nvm
i hooked the bridge by mistake
for reasons i don't understand though, running it properly with just the files from trex does not hook at all
what are you trying to do?
got beamng to work again somewhat
its a 0.3.8.1 version
tried 0.1 version too, same results as here
@static moss do you have any plans on porting this game to ff by any chance?
probably not unfortunately. the way the meshes deform would be a nightmare to get working right
plus beamng versions this old really aren't very useful 🙁
my next project will probably be burnout paradise
if i'm gonna deal with deforming meshes, it'll be a game i really want to see path traced 🤣
yeah thats sad they removed dx9 support
oh nice
will definitely try when you are done with it
if it works 😆
@craggy heath did you leave the cars in gta 4 rendered through shaders to keep the deformation?
yes vehicles and characters are skinned via shaders - I did edit the shaders so that remix can capture the normal data tho
Why the characters tho
because I cant be arsed to do that and there is more then just skinning - they also handle bone damage and stuff in the shader
It's alive guy'ssss
Idk why uncle didn't post it himself
https://youtu.be/zIFJ8qz60lc
Still working on it but I don't think I have the funds to finish this mod.
no way
@uncut scaffold did you stall
No.
