wow nice
hmm
tf_win64.exe -game tf -allowdebug -condebug -dxlevel 70 -w 1920 -h 1080 -noborder -windowed -debug +sv_cheats 1 +r_3dsky 0 +r_WaterDrawReflection 0 +r_WaterDrawRefraction 0 +r_shadows 0 +r_frustumcullworld 0 +r_unloadlightmaps 1 1 +mat_specular 0 +mat_bumpmap 0 +mat_normalmap 0 +mat_parallaxmap 0 +r_staticprop_lod 0 +r_lod 0 +mat_queue_mode 0 -novid -high +r_occlusion 0 +mat_softwarelighting 0
its not a remix thing either
its the enginer
ye some kind of vertex buffer issue for sure
so how did you port the patches? just look at similar functions in ghidra between x32 and x64 dlls?
yeah
my friend did half of the work but hopefully this will allow us to use it in like
the newer 64bit games
dayum lmaobox? š
so is he gonna make some mini fork based off lmaobox for remix stuff?
nah, just add a small thing for us

it's really not much
just inject a dll with modified functions
instead of modifying the binary
do you know anything else that could be the issue of the vertex explosions
have you tried nsight
no im lazy and fat
i only know its because the engine has some weird bug with sending vertex buffer commands in FF on modern source
hence the integer by zero patches
what would be the issue in the source code
-# nsight
im not the one asking...
open up nillerusr's engine and go look around
the patches work for all new 64 bit games
lets goooo
exept for the vertex explosions
bro idk how to use allat shit
it is very intuitive
you see every draw call
and you can see the geometry
so you can have an idea where it goes wrong
you want the new tf2 patcher?
yeah sure
anything else i should know about?
no bueno
blue is lurking
unfortunately these do not work for gmod x64, though blueamulet's existing patches for x64 work fine
most of the culling patches dont work either but i already assumed that since gmod changed all of the r_cullbox functions
ty rubat
they work for all of the valve 64x
i would get my friend to fix the gmod ones
but i already have bugged him enough
its fine, we dont really need the other patches, just the materialsystem and shaderapidx9 ones i already have
still lost as fuck
do we have a fix for the vertex explosions?
FATTY
whoah, almost a month went by
dayum
wdym
the 1.0 release
sure boss ill check
ā¤ļø
yummers
x32 i imagine?
mercenaries dont care about no smoking inside warnings
or it's a hell lot of dust
is it the latest remix build?
yes
@latent pulsar Also, I was wondering, do I need TF2_port to use the RTX remix?
wdym
i think they're asking about the tf2 2007 port we got remix working with a while ago
ok
@latent pulsar how do i get tf2 looking like that in the picture
and uhh, how's it going?
both
Step 1: Open the Steam Console

- If you want to change resolutions, open remix.bat and modify the
-w(width) and-h(height) parameters to match your disp
oh, so we're using the pre-64bit version?
64 bit no, but 32 bit in new tf2
yes
old 32bit
thanks
TF2 Classic is surely published
Does this game detect remix as cheating or does online work?
I think there was some recent news on this
In Gmod it doesnāt so I donāt know about TF2
Iām pretty sure they use different anti cheatās
Sounds like they both use VAC
From what Google says
Atleast
Yeah, I think all Valve games use VAC
It automatically kicks you claiming you to be in insecure mode
We must make our own servers then

Insecure servers are a thing
we need to give them more confidence
Sounds like a good spa day to me
Spa days are actually a mental reset istg
another thing to add to the list
I recommend hunting days, very peaceful
?
help i instaled it but theres just a black screen any advice
where
the entire window is black and remix doesn't create the rtx-remix folder
no longer black but still no remix
I cant download the depot
oh no!
what did you try?
@crystal yarrow
it's been a while, any progress on the patches?
balls
can anyone test if any update fixed/broke modern tf2?
no not any so far
got everything working except for some lights flickering but yea it works
show!
show...
the lights turn on and off depending on how close I am
32 bit?
yea
fuck
What?
modern 32 bit?
yea
64 bit tho...
anybody know how to fix lights turning on and off depending on how close the player is?
ok thx anyway
wat O_o
r/softwaregore
idk nobody here wants to fuck around with binary patches that get outdated pretty much every update
weird source voodoo
and people r cucks and don't wanna do it
or don't know how
never š
i bricked my pc if anyone cares
i think its just not a game that needs to be remixed lol
unless we really wanna recreate phong and toon shading shaders in remix š
I think the main problem is itās a live service game still being updated and anything could break Remix
i'd be cool
damn how u did tat boah
canāt you just use an older build
and stick to that
and then eventually publish that to Steam
am I missing something
I feel like that would break something considering itās a multiplayer game and connects to servers
Also I donāt think anyone is thinking of a Steam build which yes, would allow you to choose when you update the base game
itās not an online only game
Iām pretty sure you can downgrade to some old ass 2016 build and play with friends through Steam network
as long as theyāre on the same version
and you can also just play locally on any version
Kinda limits what you can do
How many people do we expect to realistically use an RTX version?
Or an older version for that matter
think the appeal for playing is not very high
but for demos, replays and content creation
I can imagine a lot of people being interested
no one if it doesnāt exist
and itād have to be on Steam, yes
which is now allowed
TF2 hasnāt received an actual major update in like a decade
Was it not before? Valve has stated your allowed to make mods of their ip on Steam
I do see thereās some mods finally on Steam for TF2 such as TF2 Classic
TF2 classic was based on the leaked code
thatās why it wasnāt allowed to be published afaik
since theyāve open sourced the sdk, it allows people to publish to Steam
yeah
Oh, I didnāt know TF2 SDK was open
it is
Wish they would open the others like Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 1/2
Especially since Source 2 is their main focus now
All I can offer for a TF2 RTX is publishing, Iām already directing one project and Iāve never really played TF2 so itās not something I would be passionate about
Anyway TF2: Remix could be a vision of what the game might have looked like in Source 2
itād be neat
Remix can look very close to Source 2 (Gmod RTX as an example)
But I donāt think anyone is interested in picking it up currently
Unless you wanna ask the Source 2 team that got shut down to do it
they are most definitely not interested
i'd be down to do a steam published version
there's like zero reason to do it but bored
performance is the only thing that's worrying in general about tf2 rtx i might add
it's really really really really bad
especially multiplayer
One benefit is we have a x64 version now so no more fucking bridge
Maybe @blazing torrent has some tips on optimizing considering Gmod RTX is so good in performance
