This post is up a little early but I know others have attempted to run this game in the community, so it may be worth compiling resources. I'll be posting my own configs for this game in a few minutes.

About skybox

Try ignoring untextured drawcalls

I'll give it a shot, but if not there is a DrawSky toggle that I'll consider an aceptable workaround for testing.

#

No dice. But Alpha Blending needs to be enabled as ALL HUD (including menus) won't work without it. I'll just disable the sky for now. ๐Ÿ˜…

The fully pathtraced intro... ๐Ÿฅบ

With a couple of console commands the game becomes pretty stable in terms of visuals. Something will need to be done about the culling and the skybox will probably need a long and frustrating day of manually inputting geometry hashes, but I think this game's showing incredible promise.

I've read before that it gets a little crashy beyond the intro, so we'll have to see where things go from here. In the meantime here's the config I have so far from a few minutes of testing. The game crashed before I could save my skybox textures so I'll probably save that task for another time-- it'd be better to handle that via Geometry hashes anyway.

There are other files included that deal with settings but I'm trying to figure out which is most important to the game. It goes without saying but these settings are far from final. In fact this will make the real world look a little goofy as this preset biases legacy mats towards being smooth, but this is all just a placeholder anyway. It'll be impossible to get the settings right until emissive replacements are complete.

#

PS: If you still want to play the game in fullscreen, remove "windowed" "1" from autoexec.cfg.

@river glen Sorry to bug you but I made some mistakes filing a Trello card: https://trello.com/c/OMsOAXRU/369-tron-20
When you have a moment, can you change the tested version to GOG and change Notes to bullet points? There's also a half-finished point that was left in by mistake:

The included autoexec.cfg has

RTX Remix Version: bridge-remix bf0984b, dxvk-remix 0a9d916

Issues:

  • Main Menu bloom is extremely bright
  • Frustrum culling is present and appears in reflections
  • Disabling alpha blending will render menus unusable
  • The title screen often appears incorrectly for a few seconds between loading screens

Phew, TRON 2.0 rendering is completely borked now and I'm not sure why-- it appears I'm having trouble disabling the sky now. I'll have to do a deeper dive in the next few days to figure out what went wrong with my config.

If this is a runtime regression, Actions Build 246 is the last one I'm aware of working with this game. After that there was a startup crash in this title for a while.
