global tonemapping isn't ideal for a lot of reasons btw. it looks good in some scenarios but it's problematic in darker areas (at least based on my testing, i'm far from an expert on tonemapping lol)

to me it looks right in most scenarios, but it fails a bit on darker skyboxes, it makes them way too bright, altering the vibe the map is supposed to give, idk
and it can change the color of the sun sometimes

since everything is gray, it means the replacement assets are missing

I don’t think it’s worth the trouble especially since unlike other Pathtracers, there’s not a bit of raster in Remix meaning you’d have to implement raster from scratch

the only way i've found to work around this is use stable diffusion 1.5 + a controlnet tile model so it can actually reconstruct the texture details
its a lot of manual work but it usually has great results

So you can kinda make clouds with the atmosphere and heterogenous options but the issue is that it only goes from bottom to top

these hl2 apartment buildings are most straightforward to replace since they're literally a model and not world geometry

because they're rendered in a fundamentally different way

i like mwbase uses a unique textue for flashlight particles, i can spawn a effect light on it
so mw base has working flashlights for some guns 👅
after porting them to remix they will be like ~6 gb for each weapon

if you have too many textures loaded and try to open the remix ui, it instacrashes the game
idk if this was intended by nvidia but there is an assert that tells remix to exit when that happens
looks like its an imgui bug itself

benefit of this is that you can now have like 500 addons and remix wont self-implode when you try to open the menu
i have 457 and the game is now rock solid after adding that fallback
ok nvm this is a much larger issue, i can add fallbacks for these all day, but you always end up crashing somewhere in imgui
so something about remix completely breaks it when exceeding a certain amount of textures

what binary patch do i use
i wouldnt use the advanced install tab, if you're doing a clean game install. remove everything except the launcher, open the launcher and click quick install
also make sure you're using the newest launcher

i think if i did a dome, you would see the cutoff on some maps with a lot of verticality
all remix, the cube you see in the screenshots is the anchor
each preset has its own mesh hash so i can do multiple
so its a lot of engine/lua fuckery to make it play nice

possibly, but in order to do multiple, you'd need to replicate what i did in the game
if you wanna do one, just import the sphere to something and apply a hdri as an emissive
