You may not actually have the pathway made for it

this is because you have hl2rtx mounted
also you probably have addon interfering with the hdri editor
tried with all addons disabled but not changing skybox

i've made a clean installation on 0.6.5 using launcher
and HDRI (i use 0.3) seems not working
and i've also notified some weird blue artifacts on water using RR on
(doesn't matter, cnn or tf)

yea i was getting the blue stuff as well after changing the hashes for the water replacement back
i can probably fix this, i think its a material problem with the replacement

you got two options
- uninstall that legs addon and use pseudoplayer
- keep using the legs addon but acknowledge the mod author would have to fix the weird bones
why don't they just scale the bones

probbably, he just has specific rtx settings that magically made volumetrics work, so im modifying it to include the hashes from the other rtx.conf and some other hl2rtx rtx.conf settings that shouldnt interfere
so hopefully we'll have a one-size-fits-all rtx.conf

You can disable the setting to fix viewmodel fov
changing any of the remix viewmodel settings dont affect it

nah thats the hetrogenous or whatever volumetrics called, it moves the volumetrics instead of them standing still

set the transmittance measure to 1 and scattering albedo to 55,000 that will let us def know that volumetrics are wrking

also had to switch to x64 as changing any of the volumetrics settings makes x32 crash almost instantly

yea that happens in heavy fog i think its trying to simulate what happens in Real life
u can get heavy fog with no dimmed sunlight if u enable atmospheric option and lower the height away from the skybox

Check out the hetro volumetric aswell, set the noise field spatial to something like 0.03, the higher the value the more smaller each particle will be in the fog

you didnt swap the rtx.conf by any chance?
one thing to keep a lookout for is worse performance with blueamulet's patches as there is some incomplete culling patches
if you're using popo's rtx.conf, they probably have fallback lights enabled

yea i use fallback cause it has a option to get sharper shadows, wish it was a general option and not need fallback
i think a new remix might've broke what i did to fix the HDRI textures, i probably have to re-do all of these with the new blender trick

im not really surprised, HDRIs dont use remix lights, they're entirely emissive and i dont think remix's volumetrics are built to handle this

and it casted lights on the walls
this looks like a NRC bug
if you want both to emit light correctly, adjust the viewmodel scale
making it higher makes it emit light iirc
but it causes other issues

there isnt, hl2rtx has a lot of replacements without any textures so most of these textures will break

i don't like the physgun glow effect it's seems looks big.
btw, i've notified that hamza's RTX.conf has better water refractions
they mess with the PBR modifiers, we cannot include those as it messes with other people's RTX mods

you can kinda workaround it, but you cannot use the camera tool at all

I updated the driver but the error persists.
you can try x64 which doesnt use the bridge, set your gmod beta to this in steam, delete everything inside ur gmod rtx directory except the rtxlauncher and try the quick install again

gmod rtx without any addons only uses 2GB on my RTX 2080 @ 1080 DLSS perf on gm_construct
a lot of weapon mods precache their textures which is usually the worst offender
but there could be more i dont know about

you dont have to uninstall them, just try disabling stuff, relaunching the game, load into a map and see if the vram usage is any lower
even better, i forgot about the disable feature. tysm since i play maps and i always sit at 99% in empty parts of a map
ye maps dont usually spike vram unless the author did something cursed with textures
so very rare in comparison to addons
i want to see if there is some way to clear precached textures in the engine but that would be quite the research effort
so idk anytime soon

i wish i knew why some people have different types of bridge crash issues
its just like it was 3 months ago, for some people the game wont start and are greeted with a bridge error. for me x32 crashes if i dare touch volumetric settings, and then finally it just randomly crashes sometimes
i know its not gmod since VS shows the assert in the bridge executable

it's been like this since we merged a bunch of rtx.confs for the old hash system. I tried to remove as many as i could before i released 0.6.5
CR you should add an Extras tab to the launcher so that HDRI Editor and other tools can have installers and updaters in it

x64 is a little better but its got its own issues

the rtx.conf that's included in the release has either been replaced or something broke your hashes
I did download your latest release from 18 hours ago and replaced everything
after I used the launcher to create the instance
sounds like the order was wrong, also do not manually install any archives from 0.6.5 or above
put the rtxlauncher in a empty folder, run as admin, click quick install
it does the rest for you
same thing happens on a fresh install unfortunately
i removed all previous remix compat addons except niknaks
maybe try reinstalling the main gmod install you have? something isn't right here
