so when i told you to change ingame video settings the 1st time, did you change it in the launcher or gmod's video settings?

you do get these in the console when you change presets right?
nah, its loading the texture but the render target isnt being created (the color changing effect you would see in debug view)
all i know is that some kind of software on windows breaks this but i could never find the culprit myself
it happened to 2 other people but it magically started working over time for them

for some reason my addon isnt detecting the sun light as its own but cranking the light distance seems to work
just remember to lower it for heavier maps

try manually refreshing the bounds
and also try reloading the map
it should clear any memory leaks
we usually replace it in the remix toolkit as marking it as a decal or particle texture has its own issues
we dont mark it as shi

its a manual process since each map could have its own glass texture
its best to be familar with the remix toolkit for replacing materials

you're probably CPU limited
3050 is already capable but not the best but its good
just get a better cpu and background processes will be dealt with and you might have more VRAM to use
you can check your CPU specs in task manager

they have 16gb of vram

There was also a horrible mirror that would tank everything down to Seconds Per Frame that I kept having to disable everything time I reset the map lol

yea as long as the map has those requirements, its now guaranteed to be playable in remix
we only render the leafs visible and nearby the player, so culling happens, but it shouldnt ever be visible
well other than static props since they're controlled by a distance slider (they still get culled outside the PVS)
Curse Sources decrepit lack of optimization for modern hardware in modern map configurations lol
still wish there was a better way of managing view frustrum culling other than render bounds, its stupidly expensive and the PVS is my only saving grace
I heard xoxor4d say that the garbage perf was mostly caused by the fact that everything is software skinned instead of hardware skinned
At least it's configurable though, I hate rounding a corner and then all the lights pop into view in front of my face. But I understand he doesn't have much of a choice lol

i think most of that had to do with us switching to x64, luajit is much faster here. I did make some changes though, we only render light updaters that are visible in the PVS
they can and will cull still if you're far enough away
but that can be adjusted of course

well incase yah wanna you take these three fuel cells goto that combine looking symbol delete it [cause its a door or whatever inless you wanna use the lifts to one by one transport them up the area that is lol]

can't you make them terrain textures and use the terrain as decals?
terrain textures are used in the terrain builder which is extremely expensive
i ment like they just dont exist
and provide no visual benefit
make sure the other one isnt accidentally ignored

you can't change it currently unless you use an older Remix build, which isn't really a good comparison due to the number of changes made

It is assumed that playing gmod multiplayer with remix is a big no, right? Used to be a part of a big RP server from back in the day and they opened a small server on their custom map and I wanna try it

You can join any server that allows insecure users to join

Really its only a 10 slot server and they opened it for nostalgic purposes, only reason is the custom map is hard coded to crash unless it's ran in a multiplayer server running the exact mod pack
gmod's VAC doesnt actually care about dll injections from what i can see
but @crystal storm , the server must have the compat mod installed
otherwise the binary module and the clientside lua files wont load
it should still go ingame but the graphics will be pretty broken without them

I think i found a non-protected version of it, its an old map made right before the Gmod 13 Beta
It was made by like 10 different people working on different parts of the map so lord only knows what could be wrong with it, I still have to install 64 bit GMOD RTX first

you probably need to unignore the other texture and mark it as decal

The other texture wasn't set to ignore but after trying a mix of decal for one or both textures this is the best I got

personally, i find diamond_wallaby to be better on just about everything
Truthful_shrimp seems to have better detail at some parts but at the same time it can be way too noisy with movement and has some artifacts as well. Diamond is definitely a jack of all trades and I find it very comfortable in most games

yeah the thing i sent forces DLSS 4's upscaler for the non-RR mode, so some variation in performance is expected
and FWIW RR is supposed to improve performance anyway over normal DLSS
The shading of the glass and the tempature of the light, its really grasping at straws trying to say I see a major difference but that was the one part of the original screenshot that made me say "maybe shrimp is better at detail"

most if not all can be fixed with vmt edits
For example there are textures that only appear in dx9 and above, and don’t appear when the feature level is at 8

the vmt file is a little text file that tells the game how the texture is displayed
the thing is color2 is used in conjunction with another parameter that works in normal gmod
but remix doesn't pick it up and the material is just black
Ahhh ok ok, asking cause ur mod came with the texture files replacing the originals as a gmod addon so that’s why I’m kinda confused
this is actually not a remix issue
it's just a source engine fixed function rendering issue
you can disable RT and you'll see the texture is still broken
