Loads but has plenty of issues, list specifics here and or any fixes anyone has.
Using a HD Client seemed to produce much better results in lighting, when using the original client the light was barely there.

Wonder if wow ascension would be possible

Hi guys

#

Is working on a 4.3.4 Cataclysm?

ornate zinc
#

No clue haven't gotten any news since initial post

pale quarry
#

Let´s see if the can work around.

dry root
#

How were you even able to get this to load in the first place?
When i try to add it, it just crashes the wrapping on startup and starts the game without it at all

pale quarry
#

client version?

dry root
#

3.3.5 client

#

Seems the RTX remix from the portal works but its extremely buggy, But the open source 0.2.0 ones does not work at all. it straight up hooks and drops then continues to load without remix

pulsar scroll
#

Does it work with wow SoD 1.15? Anyone working on that?

marsh hull
pulsar scroll
#

Ahh ok that makes sense, thanks!

I started a little side project for TurtleWoW and got the RTX remix running. The game can function but textures won't load without configuration (probably). I'm no expert on the topic, but would be happy to get some help to even start putting it back together.

short jay
#

Hey guys, is anyone active with this still?

short jay
#

I’ve got it working on the turtle wow client. Going through now and categorizing textures as I go around.

burnt hinge
#

did it work out of box?

short jay
#

Yeah just copied over the runtime files. The textures are messy though.

marsh hull
short jay
#

but it is working now with just remix runtime and vanillafixes

marsh hull
#

Oh, what is vanillafixes?

short jay
#

its a stutter and input lag fix, but it also lets you load additional dlls

#

BTW i am talking about 1.12, 3.3.5 was not working for me

marsh hull
#

I have been using RTX Remix with WoW and tested it for probably 10+ hours, I really like the look of it but there are many issues

#

ah for me 3.3.5 is working with 3 files from portal rtx

short jay
#

oh sick

marsh hull
#

I can let you know what files if you want, just need to switch pcs

short jay
#

yeah idk if you saw my messages in general but im building a tool now to do texture categorization outside of the game

marsh hull
#

Oh cool, so you are miles more capable than me then^^

short jay
#

my big issue was tons of textures loading transparent with remix

#

haha, its coming together

#

but with this you will be able to just run around the world/area and use the capture assets button on the overlay

#

then just do all of the categorization outside in this program

#

ill post the build here when its ready to test out

marsh hull
#

So for me, getting 3.3.5 to work, you need the d3d9.dll from portal rtx that is not in the .trex folder and you need the NvRemixBridge.exe that is inside the .trex folder from portal rtx. Then you need to make sure (atleast for me) that you are running the game in windowed mode (windowed maximised is ok, but fullscreen doesnt work for me) and disable some of the graphical options.

short jay
#

would you be able to send those files in chat? id like to try it out

alpine pivot
#

Anyone still on this? I'm running RTX Remix on Turtle Wow, world of warcraft vanilla

burnt hinge
#

No interested in 1.12 but will surely be trying this with epoch wow when I get a new GPU.

jovial skiff
#

i havent tried this in so long but ive tried again after the rtx moving to the app and it didnt want to run properly in 3.3.5

#

sadly removed rtx today just because it was too buggy for the game and the only other games i play dont usually support it.

jovial skiff
#

ai :p

alpine sable
#

Is anyone actively looking into this? I’m really curious how to get this running and working on 3.3.5. I have remix hooked into the game but get too many artefacts whilst moving the camera, no floor and no skybox

alpine sable
# brisk robin how did you hook?

I used the portal RTX files, but I found I was able to hook with the latest release too with the remix launcher executable. Both far too glitchy to use though with my limited knowledge. No idea how people have managed to have workable showcases

brisk robin
#

did you try on private server?

alpine sable
#

Yes like the others here, private servers are the only way to access the 3.3.5 patch in game. I started looking into this with the goal of having something working for the upcoming project epoch

#

@brisk robin is this something you’ve looked at also?

brisk robin
#

ive tried on veritas server

#

but no luck

alpine sable
brisk robin
#

tell me priv server name and i will check it out

#

later

#

or now

#

idk how long it will download

alpine sable
#

Very curious how you get on, as I say some models appear through fine, signs, character models, etc, but the sky is glitched, no buildings and no floor textures. And every time the camera is moved there’s visual artefacts and smudging

brisk robin
#

i dont know if i will manage anything

#

i spend a lot of time with diffrent games

#

working on rtx remix

alpine sable
#

Sure no worries 😌 this is pretty much uncharted territory there’s pretty much no info out there for getting this working in the older wow clients. Appreciate you having a look

brisk robin
#

ah doesnt work for me

alpine sable
#

Doesn’t hook?

brisk robin
#

i mean rtx-remix folder gets created

#

but

#

ye

#

it doesnt want to hook

alpine sable
#

I can try help lemme get to my PC one sec

brisk robin
#

i see that it renders in dx9 version of dx

alpine sable
#

I created a shortcut from NvRemixBridge.exe

and then went into properties of the shortcut and added a target of Wow.exe -

NvRemixLauncher32.exe -i path\to\Wow.exe

#

running that hooks remix into wow for me

brisk robin
#

so u are using x86 version of remix or x64?

alpine sable
#

x86 I believe, the bridge dll I have in the folder is NvRemixBridge32.dll

brisk robin
#

okay it hooked

alpine sable
#

great 🙂 from here it's full chaos

#

This is how mine looks for context

brisk robin
alpine sable
#

starting area for humans for comparison. The green curtain moves with the camera

#

adjusting the sky tuning parameter has made it better, but still glitchy

brisk robin
#

kinda managable

alpine sable
brisk robin
#

lots of tinkering with settings

alpine sable
#

nicely done! any chance you would be able to point me in the right direction please and possibly share your conf file?

brisk robin
#

try this

#

still its not perfect

#

there is need to tinker

#

some things

alpine sable
#

much much better thanks!

this is how my game looks now in the human area (no visual glitches when moving and i now have a skybox)

brisk robin
#

there is something wrong still

#

updated for menu

#

;D

alpine sable
#

nice! the login isn't glitched now

#

what is your process for fixing these issues?

brisk robin
#

Alt+X

#

and digging through the menu

alpine sable
#

for example the blue textureless ground for me at the moment, I can't understand how to put a texture to that?

brisk robin
alpine sable
#

I have the same settings also

brisk robin
#

do not use hardware mouse

#

for some reason if it dissapears

#

the ground will too

#

my latest version

#

bye

alpine sable
#

❤️

#

thanks a lot for the help!

brisk robin
#

If you find fix for the ground hit me

#

Cheers

alpine sable
# brisk robin If you find fix for the ground hit me

weirdly setting it to sky texture makes it so that the ground is as it should be but with a masking on top, it's not quite right - but it gets rid of all the grass texture everywhere.

also have an issue where when I click the mouse textures disappear

burnt hinge
#

How's performance tho?

#

and good to see a fellow epoch player

brisk robin
#

110FPS on mobile rtx 4060 8GB

#

big issue with terrain

brisk robin
alpine sable
# brisk robin i dont know how this fellow did the stormwind

I don’t understand either, I got stormwind to a reasonable level but trees and other items still shaked when moving, and the water had no textures - couldn’t find the correct ones to assign. The lighting was very inconsistent too when moving around, unlike in the video.

Also whenever I click the mouse, a lot of textures would disappear, notably the ground textures and buildings

alpine sable
brisk robin
#

these was old ones propably

#

now they are updated

alpine sable
#

The old ones can be retrieved from downgrading in steam via the steam console, and finding the suitable version

alpine sable
brisk robin
alpine sable
#

i'll try downgrade portal rtx files and try that

brisk robin
#

ye stormwind looks good

alpine sable
#

I didn’t have any luck downgrading the portal RTX files unfortunately

brisk robin
#

and it shouldnt be

#

if something rendered in 3d space is marked as UI

#

then it gonna render rasterisation

rotund kernel
#

you got it functional

#

nice

#

tried this quite some time ago and it didn't work for me

#

looks like it's working better now

alpine sable
feral wadi
#

Do any expansions work before dx9 was replaced?

ashen ether
#

any news? 🙁

lapis stream
#

so initially I ran this to try and check it out, and noticed the sky and water were missing

So naturally I wanted to fix that, and I like WoW modding so.

I have combined a bunch of different tools, and made an MPQ reader/extractor, as well as converter, combined with image hashing for perceptual hash matching (basically I make a string like somestringuniqueperimage) and then if any of the textures captured from the scene match any of the given categories or elements in the game, then I can define them for the rtxConfig

So I am working on setting it up for autonomous conversion so I can basically go around, capture locations, and then convert them all to the appropriate textures

brisk robin
#

it is really odd problem

#

when cursor disappears the terrain render gets streched to centre

lapis stream
#

haha no that was from my config there, I accidentally miscategorized textures
