In the mod.usda the textures Are pathed And then they only Works, if you have installed the game in exactly that Path.
So you have to Change the Path in the mod.usda

So, looking at some of the gameplay vids. I see what you're trying to do with the puddles. Dont know if youre in for feedback, but I reckon the way the roads are setup to tile textures like that. If you had a very subtle roughness/smoothness map with no puddles. It would look tons better, you wouldnt notice the tiling, and you would still get some of those nice details

I also noticed that the resolution is not running in 4k with RTX. On vanilla with all the modernization patches, it shows that it's all the way down, even though it is actually 4k.

The game will look fine, then I drive to this area and it gets super bright. Jumping back to the garage fixes it.

ingame resolution doesnt matter. the resolution gets set through the widescreen fix. since it is set to 0x0 it will detect your screen resolution automatically
the texture quality is defined by remix and not by the game
The texture filtering option gives you pixelated textures where the vanilla ones are. I have noticed this in your screenshots.
ok, then keep the filtering up, but the others have to be the way i listed.
for example the reflection settings can really slow your game down
and since remix disabled all shaders there are no verhicle reflections anymore
I put them back to max. I don't get any issues and dropping them down doesn't fix the brightness issue.
but that is wrong. burrito tested it a lot with a 4090. these settings are defined by him
I was only able to get reflections to not be matte once by visiting the shop. Completely random. Normally my cars look matte.
Problem is that setting things to high will eventually cause glitches with remix, since higher in-game graphics settings enable more and more complicated shaders.
Remix doesn't like shaders
Car paint is a to-be-fixed issue.

The over bright issue seems to be a bug with that area of the map.

For now you have pretty much have to manually fix the material for your car every time you change anything about the appearance. And since everyone has their own car setup there's not one single material fix we can push that will work for everyone.
the pack I posted earlier at least has decent materials for a bunch of the NPC and traffic cars

@jade briar i have a suggestion... instead of making the roads of the street x area wet could you aim for dirt instead? A bit more dirty way less wet. because the Street X Area roads are used elsewhere and cause that leaky roof you got here

The yellow is correct. Remix uses octathedral normal maps. Blue ones where dirext format

bc1/.../bc7 are just compression methods. For Albedo/emissive use bc7 sRGB, for normal/roughness/metallic use bc7 Linear as they're 2-graded only. All of that can be found in chaiNNer basically. I don't recommend using Photoshop for convertion in the end

So your emissive Textures Arent working. I guess your Game has another Path
For the next Update (where ever it release) you have to Change the texture path in the mod.usda from @D:/blablabla/…. To „@./…“ then the Location Path starts in the folder, where the mod.usda is.
Example: my textures i have placed in a folder Namen „gu-textures“ And this folder is in the Same folder Like the mod.usda. So in the mod.usda the pathes to my textures Are @./gu-textures/ „texturename“

Correct. Emissives only go part way for headlights - especially for the player it will require real lights.

anti-culling doesn't really work with lights on cars though, because it just remembers the light's last known location
if the light has to move, it needs to be attached to something that doesn't get culled.

Both can be used. I made the remix lights very low powered so they can just light up the emitter object.

there's an actual list of steps you need to follow to make sure your GPU connector doesn't melt:
- ensure it has no pressure on it (difficult given the GPU sizes and case sizes)
- ensure it's seated properly
- use only first party connectors
be carefull from the third party
the second 2 are reasonable
first one? imo absolutely not. these GPUs can be huge, and if even having a bit of pressure on them can cause this issue then it shouldn't have been released
many PC setups, especially smaller ones, will put pressure on connectors and cables
