With Far camera, objects seem to unload later than with a Close camera, maybe there's a way to trick the game into thinking the camera is further than it really is

Yes, you just load in, to be precise this is entirely the work of Nsight, I didn't test VS tools.
The HUD (the tool you see in the video) work also as a standalone, you can launch a software though it

The nsight version that works with dx9 games was made for vs2017, so you gotta use an old version

Launch Nsight Monitor with administrator privilege, start VS with admin privilege too then click on File-->Open-->Project\Solution and select the executable. Then start graphics debugging from the Nsight menu
Remember to set the TDR in the Monitor at 30s

The reason why this game is looking so good with rtx is that, it is using a lot of vertex colors for lighting.
Which kinda works hand in hand with remix, and makes the game look a lot better than others

Strange. Probably cuz you're using a different car. I've only been using one car from the start, so I haven't checked to see how well other cars work.
I found the problem. It was a light source. But turning it off also shuts of the lighting nearly complete

I think he selected the light flare texture as a light source. You have to use street lamp's own texture to fix that issue.
So a few things that I've noticed that with underground 2. Apparently, when you go into car customization, and select a paint job, and apply vinyl wraps etc, the game goes ahead and bakes a car texture, and applies it to the car, so that it is compatible with the simple shader that it's using for the ff shader mode.
It causes remix's asset replacement system to get confused. When I had a simple paint job on my car with no decals on it, I went into omniverse, and changed the material properties to be glossy, like how real car paint would be. It worked just fine for most of the time, but when I customized my car, and added decals, and changed, paint color, now the car uses a different material for the same 3d model. I go into omniverse, and changed the material to be glossy again. Easy enough, right? No. Now, remix sees two different materials targeted towards the same model in mod.usda. What does it do? It picks one of the materials randomly. How do you get it to load the correct material? You go into the garage, and exit back out for the game to reload the correct texture. Now, remix knows which material to apply. This works fine for the rest of the time you're driving around in free roam, but as soon as you enter a car shop, or race, remix once again, decides to use a random material for the car.
Now you can easily fix the material after exiting the shop by just going to the garage, and then exiting, but you can't do it during a race.
So it's rng which car material you get. Sometimes you get lucky, and remix continues using the correct texture for your car.
This is also gonna be problematic during the asset replacement phase of the game. Even if remix knows what car paint you're using exactly, and is able to load the correct material for it, manually making a replacement for every single color and vinyl combination is simply gonna be impossible. There are millions of different combinations for a single car, let alone all of them.
I'd like to see how remix devs solve this problem. If they ever do.

Here's my mod.usda btw, it has some light sources added to the garage, streetlight, and the main menu.
You can rip out the over "meshes" { ... } part and put it in your own to just add the lights to your own mod.usda

yeah, but installing chaos mod caused the game to crash when loading into menu. After reinstall, the game crashes instantly after showing up.

The separate setup on the top is for lines, since every type of road tuxture has road markings baked in.

Here's what it looks with less puddles, and the texture color looks fine at a night time hdri.

It depends on the road you want
if you want a well maintained road
then dark asphalt would be better
if you want an old and beat up road
then the light grey would work
or you can have a lighter black for your typical roadway
also if you want to be really fancy
you can add dark strips on either lane to signify the damage of other cars driving on the road
I want it to be as close to the original, so beat up would look better.

they only cost like a dollar
that would also help sell the degraded look
That dark comes from increased roughness in the middle where not a lot of cars drive, which wouldn't be visible on the wet road anyways.
