It was a bit of a struggle. Sometimes clearing the context seems to works, sometimes it doesn't. Yesterday was really weird. I had many hours in one sessions and probably rolled through my context numerous times but then it will just go off the rails at times and the death spiral of thought doesn't end. At this point, I will force a stop, interogate Marvin. have him explain. Take his outout and start a new chat form his previous analysis. Many times in this case, I will pick a different model all together.

I truly believe it's the source LLM. Like maybe I get stuck with a sticky bit to a bad cluster or node and it's just craps the bead. Picking a new model will force new connections. Just a guess based on years of network/distributed development experience so no proof.

You can see if the IP address it calls out to changes and then block the ones that don't seem to work very well which is very hacky but whatever.

I believe it's a load balancing server, likely a fairly centralised couple of them, which probably won't help in that case.

Yeah, I need to do some network stack monitoring to see what's going on under the hood but I have so many other priorities, I'm just working around it right now. It's like those apps where you save a setting, it fixes a corrupt state the setting had and all is well after but all fucked before you do

It's also co-located with a whole bunch of servers as well for different things maybe you'll get looking it's actually co-located with a windsurf one in fact if it is in fact I might actually test that myself later.

Sorry, just getting back to this John. Been away for a few days trying to drum up some business and locate a new gig. Thanks for the offer but I got bigger fish to fry than tracking down the network stack at this time. I'll just work around their crappy context limits for now. 🤷 I did watch so videos on Caude Code with the new Sonnet and Opus 4 LLMs. I'm not sure I'm a big fan of terminal vibe coding but the power is undeniable!!!
