This Visa/MC is not associated with Russia - so for companies you are not Russian consumer

In Stripe, you can select Russia as a country, which means the company clearly sees where the payment is coming from. Moreover, payments are accepted via Alipay—do you think the company then assumes all purchases are made by Chinese users? Alipay can be topped up from Russia as well.

I think companies also use crypto or Alipay, and if they need to process payments through accounting, they use local providers like YandexGPT or GigaCode. But it's unclear how this relates to the question.
If we focus on the question and Codeium doesn't want to work with Russia, they could simply state it clearly so that customers have no doubts. I haven't seen any official announcement about this, but I did see a discussion about the chat not working in some countries.
