#It does support rider right

We should support rider yes. Do you see the Codeium icon in the bottom right corner? It should look like {...}
no
Hmm ok. this has been a recurring problem where the icon is not showing up. In our next release we'll add a way to log in via a menu item.
If you're willing, can you check the Notification pane and tell me if you see any Codeium-related messages there? Find Action -> Notifications
You can also try triggering the login flow via Find Action as well.
Help --> Find Action --> type "Codeium" --> select Log In to Codeium
ok
ok there is a codeium button in the bottom right corner but it has no icon
and the login button does nothing
the login action doesnt to anything either
no notification
Ugh. ok I'd really like to fix this. Could you tell me the version of Rider you are using? As well as your operating system and version?
latest (2022.3.1 b#rd-223.8214.53)
win11 pro b22621
can it have anything to do with my internet being slow? (cuz its really slow)
btw the icon does appear in the same version on linux but i still dont get a notification and the login button doesnt do anything
I don't think it should have anything to do with slow internet. When you click login, it should open a new browser window directing you to our website.
Could you DM me your idea.log file? Help -> Diagnostic Tools -> Show Log in Files
Need to figure out why it's not requesting to open a browser
OK thank you that was very helpful. I think we're pretty sure now that your slow internet might be the issue. We're going to increase our timeouts substantially and hopefully that will fix it. You should be able to try an updated version of the plugin tomorrow.
does the timeout happen when i click the button or at rider startup?
i want to test somth with my internet
ty its fixed now
i just did somth with my internet and i both got the notification and the login worked
but if my internet is like this does that mean the suggestions are going to be that slow too?
Hmm that’s unfortunate, yeah the amount of data sent is quite small but there needs to be a stable connection for now
But some question related to this: could we setup the language server locally? Maybe network issue or something else. We may need setup in a offline env, but yes, we can use it when network is fine.
If you would like to self-host Codeium, you'll need to go for the enterprise plan. Otherwise, it's not easy to make sure the service works if you are having network issues.
Yeah, I think it's a little strange case: there're still some countries that may have restrict access to some websites(you know who😅 ). I guess that why I failed to install language server because of this restriction. Even it's a internet-works pc.
may need a vpn then
