I likes the current rank input box, but as the purpose of the input box is to acquire specific amount of rank points, sometimes we just check how many humanity they have left and try to +1, what if we have a button to do that?
For example when I found that I have enough humanity to reach next rank, I could just click the +1 rank next to the rank input and it round the level input to next rank.
Also as a side note, I think it might also be good to have the current Aspect level shown in the Aspect level settings box.

No matter how many good things we get, we'll always ask for more
gives me such a perverse negative incentive to just never add qol lol

You type the rank into the box, and also, having 1 humanity left means you can get one more level not 1 more rank
The whole point of this channel is you want to make the game as pleasant as reasonably possible isn't it 😂
I think there are little point to add more levels if that doesn't translate to rank? (Unless you desperately needs corruption)
By humanity we have left I think what I really wanted to say was "cheap discipline levels"
At least in my case I ballpark if I can get another rank for the "off-hand" aspects without bump up the discipline cost too much to get more rank points.
It's been a recurring theme that whenever he adds major QoL, someone comes along and asks for more and more and more and more and more
And, no that's not necessarily the point of this channel
But isn't QoL added up by all those "wouldn't that be nice" when someone practicing their workflow?
Unless we speak up we won't know if that is a "me problem" or it is actually something people can relate to.
At the end of the day dev. will decide which one worth their time and which one are low priority.
My apology if this turned out to be a waste of time post.
I apologize if I came off that way
I find it mildly amusing to see the notion of "More QoL, More QoL, More QoL" after some was added
In fact, I was going to suggest this exact thing
Literally, a next rank button
But as a game dev myself, it's actually quite frustrating and tiring when I give QoL and people ask for more and more and more
Drag and drop synth queue was another famous one, before Queue the request was "Queue please"
The moment it drops, "Drag and drop please"
People will always ask for more, whether it's quality of life or content.
Correct
And as stated
It's frustrating and tiring
I don't mean to speak for Sylv
Just sharing my experience
Unless you are a god tier psychic you will not know if the idea of your tool would be the most prefect shape of their user after all.
Those back and forth are how we approach the best thing (subject to reasonable effort) so it usually never ends.
I don't think me or Sylv find it too painful 😅 It's just the way things are.
At least for me, mainly it boils down to "oh sure that's easy to add on top" or "damn that's going to be tricky because of xyz". And then it's just a priority shuffle dance based on impact and pain
Fair
Put another way -- we have the board here for a reason, we welcome suggestions, and then it has to be implicit that we can't promise everything
Players asking for the moon and then having to settle for "Well, we've got this chunk of space rock..."
When life gives you lemons
You make life take the lemons back
I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS
DEMAND TO SEE LIFE'S MANAGER
MAKE LIFE RUE THE DAY IT THOUGHT IT COULD GIVE CAVE JOHNSON LEMONS
I am no game dev but I make tiny tools in my workplace, when my colleague suggest something I usually would be like one of these.
"Nah low priority wait until I feel like it." "Damn why I didn't thought of this." "You really asked for this? Just DIY." "My brain hurts hearing this I don't want to do that." "It is already there!!"
It's just the occasional ones that make a bunch more request come in down the line where i see the suggestion and I'm like... exasperated sigh "ya that makes sense"
