GIMP thumbnails not showing content

Hey, my GIMP file thumbnails (xcf) only show the icon. Any way I can make it show the content of the image file instead? That would help.

Does this exist on other desktop environments? To my knowledge GNOME/Nautilus will need some sort of file preview handler extension specifically for GIMP project files (xcf), which might simply not exist since were talking about program exclusive project file formats, not final exported images.

Speaking of, those should work just fine since they're in an actual image format, which is handled. (unless they're located on a network share (this has a setting somewhere))
