Hey,
I've had a lot of experience with linux and nvidia and it's no secret it's a mess and I just could never get it to properly work
I remembered I always disabled nouvou since it was the open source fallback and generally I just want something that works
Should I install vanilla os with nouvou unloaded? or should I pick the regular installation?
And about the problem, I've tried booting from a live usb, it just gets stuck on the 3 yellow dots flickering loading screen that I can somehow write things on
And I'm really worried about it since it doesn't officially state but does the nvidia driver can get signed and fully support secure boot?
Finally, I remember nothing below version 545 worked for me, and it seems to be the "stable" one for vanilla is 535?
Do note I'm looking to dual boot this with windows, and praying it doesn't wreck my windows dis
Thanks for the help in advance!
#Installation stuck on nouvou unloaded, should I use it it if I have a new NVIDIA Gpu? (4070 ti)

There is an image available you can install nvidia-exp which has 560 drivers, that's probably needed for good support for your GPU
For install, maybe you can try to use your CPU integrated GPU for that, if you have one?
Yes I have one, but after installation I think if it stays it would only cause problems since it always falls back to it for some reason
My question is what should I pick during the installation process
Tried safe graphics?
I tried every mode it just gets stuck
I don't know why
i9 12900k 32 ram and 4070 ti if that helps
Try another USB? Just to make sure it isn't broken
Nope it also worked with other distros
What's this?
When you first start the installer it asks if you want to install, if you want advanced install or if you want recovery
It doesn't reach that, it just gets stuck on a black screen or the 3 dots screen
Screenshots maybe?
i don't think this will be a screenshot
it will more be like a photograph taken with a phone
Oh, the driver is not loading at all
Then re-enable the igpu to do the install. The os will then ask to install Nvidia drivers.
how do you select the nvidia-exp image when you do the install ?
I'm currently installing VOS on my laptop, but I went to install it my destop too after that, and I need nvidia proprietary drivers...
directly at the start there is a custom image option
So the problem is it's a black screen, like no matter which option I choose
I can't even reach a terminal
Even with the igpu enabled ?
