Just for the record, I have a daisy chain of drives that I mount to folders instead of leaving in a single area. I have done this on MULTIPLE different opererating systems including linux distributions known as fedora, arch and ubuntu. This error makes no sense to me as I've gone through this process multiple times and have never encountered this error before.

If flatpak you need to add the permission to access the directory. You can do it through flatseal
