I've got it up and running on an old Macbook. And I think you can just go sudo abroot shell which will open up apt on the system and then just sudo apt install broadcom-sta-dkms if I am remembering correctly.

I'm guessing in Orchid it would be:
abroot pkg add broadcom-sta-dkms
abroot pkg apply

#

But apparently, that bricks the system currently, though I'm not sure.

That is what i did in Orchid, short of the brick anyway.

ok

I fixed the package name above, that should work for 22.10

#

The problem might be that this laptop might not have an ethernet card @clear pecan do you have another way to get internet to install the driver?

They already installed it, but they said installing the driver bricked their system.

installing vanilla to the ssd on my other computer

#

and then installing with driver manager over ethernet or whatever

#

but when i installed it to the ssd when i tried to boot from my laptop it told me it wouldnt find the initramfs or whatever

#

i can try again

If you have an android phone you can try USB tethering, that usually works
