Please still tell me if you plan on installing on different drives or on the same drive as Windows
So, VanillaOS have installer, in installer (drive partitioning step) you can make Windows's partition smaller (in gparted) and create partitions for Vanilla. Vanilla will boot by default, but if you're using UEFI, you can boot in Windows using boot menu. That's how I did dualboot. Vanilla and Windows on the same drive
I'm assuming you're installing 22.10. The following will not be true for Orchid.
You have to create:
-
an efi partition: vfat 1GB
-
boot partition: ext4 1GB
-
two root partitions both: btrfs 20GB (label them a and b)
-
and a big home partition: btrfs (as much space as possible, all your programs and data will be stored here
After installing you have to follow #1132349033525022750 to enable dual boot with Windows.
Be careful though, you could easily break Windows if you're not careful.
