<@&1454362874121289829> what are some good slogans for Resonate?
We can have multiple slogans and have them chaning in the hero section as well.
Hey @gloomy rune please confirm, when will you start to implement the new website design ?
From today morning
okay
I need to raise an issue or PR ?
I'm opening the issue right now, if the Figma file is finalized then we can add it to the repo via PR
Yeah sure
@gloomy rune You are now level 6! :confetti_ball:
@gloomy rune
I can share the screenshots if you haven't got it yet.
@ember hearth You are now level 3! :confetti_ball:
ping me here.
Yes, that would be really helpful.
I think that covers almost all screen.
You have auth flow screens right @gloomy rune ?
Login and signup?
He doesn't have that yet
I gave @gloomy rune the yellow theme of resonate
As it was initially implemented
Was it?
Now the design gonna completely change i guess, So this theme also works Right @sudden yarrow
Yes I thought yellow theme is what Madhav meant as to implement
In the website
If you look at the playstore
Should I share it, or you will share it now
It's yellow there as well in the photos
I did shared to him
Could be...i remember, he saying that
@ember hearth You are now level 4! :confetti_ball:
Cool then👍
Hey @arctic slate I am really very eager to work on resonate-website as I also started my journey with react and next.js. if @gloomy rune want then we can work together on code
@arctic slate , I changed the domain of the Resonate landing page to https://resonate.aossie.org . But note that it is not rendering well now. This is probably because the base path needs to be updated in the project's config.
Resonate is an Open Source social voice platform maintained by AOSSIE. Join rooms, talk to people, and connect with the community.
Yes the Yellow and Black is Resonate's classic theme, and would be preferred to have
Exactly I sented him yellow colored screens only
@ember hearth could you share the screens in yellow and black as well
@sudden yarrow already sent it to @gloomy rune i guess.
You want me to share it here ? @arctic slate
Should I do it ?
Hi @arctic slate 👋
I came across the Resonate Website project and it looks really exciting!
I’m very interested in contributing to this open-source social voice platform and would love to help with features, UI improvements, or bug fixes.
Here’s my portfolio: https://uday243-portfolio.netlify.app/
Please let me know how I can get started or if there are any beginner-friendly issues available.
Looking forward to contributing!
Share with me the reamining screen in yellow and black version only
Hey @arctic slate could you tell me which section i can work for ?
https://www.figma.com/design/wC1eX3E1CfOkfRrDMSqEcl/Resonate-AOSSIE-Design-File?node-id=3-3&p=f
is this is the design we are currently working ?
and i'm ready to take up any issue
@arctic slate
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/671
I have solved the merge conflict. I think it can be merged now.
If you sent it it's fine
Yes, this is the new design. @gloomy rune is leading the migration, so check with him for issues you can contribute to regarding the migration
Hi, we will be able to start, After I recieve the Resonate Screens. I will be able to deicde placement of different screens in mockup.
I am currently working on the documentation of the Design System. Once it is ready we can kickstart the project.
Okay sounds good
Yeah sure 👍 and I’m also getting familiar with the project documentation .
@ember hearth I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding, we need the screens in the classic Resonate color Theme
Black and Yellow
so if you sent those to him then it's fine otherwise please do
Yeah, I have only recieved 5 screens of Black and Yellow theme from Janvi. Remining would be really helpful.
@gloomy rune I will send one image here
just check it once
Do you want me to send the remaining as well @gloomy rune ?
I have sent everything @arctic slate i guess.
@gloomy rune Do revert back if you find anything missing.
Thanks a lot
@arctic slate

https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/64
Hi @arctic slate ,
I have initialized the NextJS based repositry for the design overhaul in the new-design branch and raised a PR. Please review it.
If we do implement a test suite, it will be part of the new design, so @gloomy rune what do you think about this? I think a test suite might be overkill for a landing page
@arctic slate We are sticking to Appwrite for GSoC 2026? Only restructuring needed right?
Yeah for the landing pages that I have worked on in the past didn't actually require a test suit completely. But if any future complexity or interactivity needs to be introduced in the landing page then lightweight check implementation might be useful like build or linting. Otherwise, skipping a dedicated test suite seems reasonable for now.
Sir please let me know if changes required for this pr when you are free @arctic slate

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m Kunal, a 3rd-year CS student from India.
I’m new to the Resonate project and just getting started here. I’ve gone through the repo and a bit of the documentation, and I’m looking to start contributing actively.
My background is mainly in MERN-based development, so I’d like to help with the web / frontend side if possible.
@arctic slate (or anyone maintaining the project) — could you guide me on where I should start, or help assign a issue?
Thanks, and excited to contribute here!
Hi Kunal,
The Resonate-website is going through a overhaul and soon more sub-issues will be opened for contributing in the new revamp. You can start with exploring the figma designs as well as previous issues and would welcome any new ideas or nuances from you side.
@gloomy rune You are now level 7! :confetti_ball:
hey @gloomy rune in figma design you only added few sections right
we can add more like what the resonate contains and more like a login and all ?
Yeah, I have added the main sections for now. Any further functionality or section will only be added if required and approved.
yup can you give me approval to edit so i can also add some change in figma
@fast wolf You are now level 7! :confetti_ball:
Can you brief the section a little bit first ?
The idea is to add more meaningful profile details like user info (avatar, bio, verification), activity sections what the resonate contains (for a basic understanding for the user how the app will be ), basic stats, and future-ready sections while keeping consistency between the app and web experience. and a category section how the resonate categories the music or audio.
if any improvements need you can also assist me
@arctic slate @gloomy rune
I personally feel the login/user based feature would be far fetched for the Landing page of resonate app because it will clutter to user's cognitive load on many things. For now, we need to keep very simple and focused CTAs that are
- Download our App
- Join our Community
Yup but mostly when a user finds the landing page interesting some will get the app and some will leave if not found any login or sign in. for example Spotify we can listen to the songs even without login in web - player. So my idea is about implementing like that in short if a user finds out landing page more great they can use both web app or mobile app
Some may think is this a legit app ? (MAYBE)
so getting trust from user it may be uesful
Idea is good but user login creates friction for users because they are tired of logging in for countless services. We also need to keep in mind that the web feature does not overshadows the mobile app. Because the features in Resonate app as of now are pretty functional.
What are your thoughts on this @arctic slate
Yup we are not implementing all , as we just started so we can begin and slowly we can get parallel to them , of course
Sir @arctic slate please assign me this issue if it's ok
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/67
Hi maintainers
I’ve opened a PR to improve accessibility for the footer and download buttons on the Resonate-Website.
Here’s the PR link: https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/66
I identified this while setting up the project locally and resolving ESLint accessibility warnings.
I’m a sophomore CS student and happy to help fix more bugs .
thanks!
is there any issue with appwrite cli? im not able to use that, but appwrite is working (localhost)
when i run docker
it ends up looping
Bun v1.3.6 (Linux x64 baseline) Appwrite Login failed. Please try again. error: Cannot find package 'inquirer-search-list' from '/$bunfs/root/appwrite-cli-linux-x64'
@static vault You are now level 3! :confetti_ball:
Hey @arctic slate , could you go through this pr:
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/723
The code works without the above changes but I believe that we would need to incorporate consistent error handling at some point in the future.
Please check it out.
Thanks!
Hi, I’m Pranjali Bhardwaj, a final-year CSE student. I’ve made a few contributions to InPactAI and would be excited to explore more AOSSIE projects. Looking forward to learning and collaborating with you all.
Can anyone help me out
@arctic slate You had told me that this issue https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/33 's PR will be merged only when the website will be changed to NEXT js, so i waited for it. Sorry for the delay. I am doing a PR right now.
Description The download now from apple store and download now from playstore buttons appear blur as they are images of low quality instead of actual components. Root cause src/DownloadApp/Download...
@gloomy rune did that and it's on review i think so
Ok, then i will wait till it gets merged
@simple bridge You are now level 12! :confetti_ball:
I initialized it for new website design.
To the new-design branch ?
Yes
Then @simple bridge you can go a head for your PR
Sir @arctic slate please let me know if any more changes required so we move to next one after closing this
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/692
Hey guys is it ok if i just fork the backend repo and contribute just in it ??
hi @arctic slate
my exams have just finished, and I’m now fully available again. I’m really looking forward to getting back to our project and contributing properly.
Hi everyone
Is it okay to open a PR on an issue without being assigned, or should contributors wait for assignment before starting work?
Just want to follow the project’s preferred process 🙂
@fleet crypt You are now level 2! :confetti_ball:
you can open an issue and ask mentor to assign it to you then you can start working on it

@trail pewter You are now level 17! :confetti_ball:

Ready to Transform Your
Audio Experience?
Hi @arctic slate ,
I have raised the PR for new-design of Resonate Website 2 days back initializing the repository newly with NextJS #64. Many other contributors including me would be able to work streamlined if that PR gets merged earlier.
Thanks
I just want to ask, are you ready with the Figma design?
Yeah the base design is ready, further sections would be added based on approval.
@gloomy rune You are now level 8! :confetti_ball:
I don't think this aligns so much with what Resonate provides
will try to find another
How about
RESONATE Where conversations live, openly.
Hey @fast wolf , we can also add more than one slogan and display them one by one on the web UI. The slogans can change at a fixed interval, so we don’t have to stick to just a single slogan.
Yeah I know, I just sent one to know what type of slogans does @arctic slate needs so I can add more
@fast wolf You are now level 8! :confetti_ball:
Yeah this has been already discussed and approved. Here ig we are talking about the Clubhouse heading
I have tried to make a Logo animation for the Resonate App. I also have the optimised JSON file for this. Do let me know your opinions on if I need to work on further iterations. @arctic slate
We can use this in splash screen or maybe when the user is getting onboarded
I like the ones that @gloomy rune proposed as part of the design, so perhaps you guys can think of more llike those
@arctic slate You are now level 29! :confetti_ball:
I think it might be better to reduce the animation a little bit
instead of multiple passes, a single pass for the logo to just form
@trail pewter please take a look https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/605#issuecomment-3751017014
Also can someone please add a CODEOWNERS file to both the website and backend repos? Please open an issue and PR for the same if you are willing.
I can take this issue @arctic slate
Hey @arctic slate I have opened a issue to add CODEKWNERS file
Could you please assign it to me.
Add CODEOWNERS file This repo currently does not have a CODEOWNERS file. Adding one will: Automatically request reviews from maintainers Improve accountability and code quality Help new contributor...
@arctic slate I have a doubt that we should work on the new design or the old one ?
No, we are currently working on a new design. Once this new design is finalized, it will be implemented.
So we should make PRs for new-design branch ?
Y👍
But new design not got implemented so, we need to wait for that
Hey @arctic slate
I’ve opened a PR to add a CODEOWNERS file to the Resonate Website repo and Resonate - Backend repo to improve the review workflow and code ownership.

Hey @arctic slate 👋
I’ve opened a PR on the Resonate Website introducing dark mode support.
The implementation keeps changes minimal and centralizes theming using CSS variables for better maintainability.
PR: https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/79
Would love to hear your thoughts whenever you have time. Thanks!
Depends on the issue. If the issue is something targeting the new design then yes, otherwise it goes into dev
okay but when someone make changes in the main and contributed to the old design, after the new design is completed then they get replaced right ?
hey , I'm Kaishav Gupta a Full Stack Developer with knowledge of Devops too , Im a new contributor at ASSOIE , I have some doubts that please someone please let me know that we have three repos related to resonate project Resonate-Backend - https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Backend , Resonate - https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate Resonate -Website-https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website , I'm currently working on Resonate - Website

@final bison , welcome to Resonate, and thank you for showing interest in our community. The main project is #1317913663360864346 , and the Resonate backend powers the Resonate app. We are currently working on Resonate Web, which serves as the web interface for our Resonate app.
Hey @arctic slate , I wanted to ask whether I should add the CODEOWNERS file to the Resonate backend on the dev branch or directly on the main branch.
Hey @arctic slate @gloomy rune
We can also add testimonials or reviews section about Resonate app in new design.
Yeah testimonials would be great, but do we have any authentic testimonials as of now ?
I too don’t know that we have or not but we’ll definitely get some, to add on
And also we can add FAQs too and something like a blogs where a user can add their honest reviews so that others can trust
Sir please review the changes
when you are free and let me know if further changes needed .
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/89
@tidal nova You are now level 10! :confetti_ball:
Blogs would be an overkill but FAQs section is already planned
Hey @arctic slate
There are currently many places in the backend controller where substantial business logic resides.
which makes it difficult for testing, maintaining, and extending.
It proposes:
- Finding Controllers with extensive business logic
- Extracting logics to specific services/use-cases
- Maintaining thin controllers with a strong emphasis on request/response communication This will make it more maintainable, testable, and scalable.
@weak urchin You are now level 3! :confetti_ball:
what about this?
@arctic slate I have done the requested changes on thie PR, please re-review it https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/75
Not necessarily. Again, that depends on the contribution
always dev
We don't have any testimonials or reviews yet. To collect them we would either have to scrape them from Play Store or collect them via other methods. I don't think this is feasible.
Yeah Blogs are overkill
Could you please elaborate with an example
It's still doing multiple passes
I meant that the logo just animates in from black once in a single complete line
Sir please assign me this issue I think from a weak it is assigned to someone but not fixed by them
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/24
Sir @arctic slate please assign me this issue when you are free
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/issues/729
I was unwell that's why i was inactive it got delayed I will fix it
Aap ho ye ??
I think it is some random person
no that person is me
@arctic slate also please review the mic issue it got resolved i opened a pr
okay so @arctic slate I’d like to suggest a small structural refactor to reduce coupling and improve testability.
Some parts of the current flow combine multiple responsibilities, which makes future
changes harder. Separating responsibilities into clearer layers would improve long-term
maintainability without altering behavior.
@arctic slate please review the issue https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/97 and https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/96 and please assign it to me

Hi everyone and @arctic slate ! 👋
I’ve been working on the Navbar overhaul since 2 days as part of the new-design, and I wanted to share the update. Here is the PR https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/102
Here is a short video of the desktop and mobile interactions. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the animations! 🚀
It looks nice
Hi everyone and @arctic slate 👋 ,
I’m Mohit! I’m passionate about open source, UI/UX improvements, and building impactful features. I work with Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, and C++, and I’m also participating in GSoC this year.
Have thought of why dont we use some backend framework like spring boot , so it will help us to achieve scalability also by using microservices architecture and for flutter state management we should use BLoC
@arctic slate , what you say
I have done the requested changes (UI/UX: Make footer copyright year dynamic) Here is the PR https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/103
please review it
This change already done by someone
And pr already got merged in dev branch
thank you for the update
resonate prs reviews are paused ? or something as we are focusing on the website
i was absent for sometime
Yes from few days mostly are focusing on web
Ohh cause I fixed some in resonate ND no activity
Bro you understand wrong we are not talking about authentication on website @trail pewter
yeah, Madhav sir also busy now a days
Is this approach ok??
yeah, it seems nice
as you are just wanting to implement a feedback sys for our app??
Also I think we can add message feature while voice calling like if someone is not able to speak they write text message
I create that issue also on resonate
.
LGTM
Hey @tidal nova , could you please add this screenshot to your issue as well? It will help make the issue more detailed and clearer.
Ok no problem
hello @arctic slate sir i've recently proposed a bug fix issue please assign it to me: https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/121

@spark mason please assign this issue of Non functional CTA and navigation buttons to me
hey @spark mason this issue has fixed in dev branch. Please checkout dev branch and contribute to dev branch
Ok
Feature already exists
No newsletters, already clarified this above in the chat
Awesome work!
Migration of State Management is already part of the ideas for 2026, I chose Riverpod though, because having freezed models might improve data safety, and it is easier to work with than BLoC
No, it's just that Website is recieving a lot more contributions for the past few days, so it's been getting a little harder balancing my time between all 3 repos, as I am the only active maintainer right now.
Also there was a death in my family so I have been totally inactive for the past few days
I really thought the whole app is on hold or smh... sry
So sorry for your loss. Please take your time
hey @arctic slate , i hope you're doing okay no rush at all just want to say i'm continuing to explore the codebase and will share a consice proposal whenever you're ready .
So we are completely removing getx
By the time coding period of gsoc ends
that IS the intention, yes
And I read that entire idea for resonate
GetX doesn't scale well and get's very hard to maintain and keep track of once the project gets bigger
which is where I think Resonate is at the moment
Also in that there is decoupling issues the app is facing so that's the whole point right of the idea
I also faced issues writing Tests because of the coupling and loose State Management that GetX seems to promote just because of how much it abstracts everything
Migration and decoupling
yes
With the migration I want the app to be clean and decoupled, with all business logic centralized
will make it a lot more easier to contribute to as ell
well
Great ok ok
And all the tests written of all the controllers by the end isn't
And also migrating it to oracle vs if possible right
Yeah ofc
After we clean up State Management, it will be possible to finally write Widget and Integration tests
That isn't really a big task, hardly a 30 minute task to set it all up
Yes but nothing mentioned in the idea page about that and we were discussing in here about that so....
Yes, that isn't big enough to be a idea
Ohh ok ok
Ok sir
@tidal nova You are now level 11! :confetti_ball:
Ok sir
@arctic slate sir can i start work on it https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/126
Hi everyone, sorry for the late follow up. I’ve gone through the recent UI discussions and updates and really like the design so far.
Please let me know where I can help or if there’s any issue I should pick up.
Hey nice to meet you. Go through the resonate issue section you will find issue there and madhav sir will assign you issue . If issue already assign to someone than you can find another issue or create new one that you think it's necessary to solve

this is my PR link https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/152#issue-3846785540
Added a subtle hover color change to the “AOSSIE” link while keeping the existing underline intact.
Ensured the hover color aligns with the site’s existing brand palette for consistency.
Improved visual feedback to make the link more discoverable and accessible without altering layout or behavior.
This update enhances usability and accessibility while maintaining the original design intent.

@livid gale I noticed you closed #116, is it a duplicate of another issue?
@arctic slate i thought you are asking me to close that one, so I did
If you allow me i can reopen that one, or you can reopen,
feel free to assign me
I wanted you to confirm if it was a duplicate or not, because I remember seeing another similar issue. If you think it's not a duplicate, then feel free to reopen it
@arctic slate
One more thing about the repo spamming, i didn't crafted my issues by LLM but , i searched: "what are some CI/CD automation i can add to my project and me me working and benefits of these" to chatgpt
I think none of us remember these things and ci/cd workflow everyone uses online available code or tool
Rest on you , i will take care of this for the next time
@livid gale You are now level 5! :confetti_ball:
Using an LLM isn't necessarily the problem, spamming the repo with issues is. The issues need to align with the projects values and requirements to be valid, and need to be original issues which haven't been discussed in the repo before.
Either way, some of your issues were indeed great ideas, and thank you very much for them. Hope to see more contributions from you in the future.
hey @arctic slate Could you please review it ( Refactor controllers to reduce business-logic coupling (starting with create-room) #150) and assign it to me so that I can begin working on it?

Hi @arctic slate! I wanted to give you a quick update on PR #141 (Rate limiting for send-otp).
I have addressed the feedback regarding the backup folder and the automated CodeRabbit comments. I’ve also uploaded the execution logs to the PR showing that the 429 'Too Many Requests' response is working correctly in a local environment. Everything is passing the CI checks now—ready for your final review whenever you have a moment!

I will like to make contributions if you can tell me , is this just a SPA for App features and downloads
Hi,
Yes it is active and contributions will be done. Currently the maintainer is a little caught up hence some PRs haven't been merged yet.
Hi @calm thunder ,
Thanks a lot for these contributions. Currently the websie design differs a lot from how it was envisioned. You can contribute to the actual new-design in some components.
@gloomy rune You are now level 9! :confetti_ball:
I am waiting for @arctic slate review.......
Hey @calm thunder it’s good to see that you are interested in new-design but it was way more different from one you created, and @gloomy rune is one how leads the new-design, and you can ask @gloomy rune for any of the sub issues that you would like to work on.
Its ok then they @gloomy rune also review it my video and tomorrow I submit my PR

it seems like you have pushed your build folder and package-lock.json , those should not be pushed and checkout your .gitignore, 95 thousand lines of changes
Thanks for pointing this out. I’ll check the .gitignore, remove the build artifacts and package-lock.json, and raise the PR again with only the relevant component changes.
You can edit in that one i have raised a pr to your branch just ato help you you just have to merged it and all set
But you deleted?
You were just one step away and you discarded all
Hello everyone I’m interested in contributing to Resonate-Backend (https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Backend). Is this project still active and currently accepting contributions?
Hey @livid gale now you can check no confict warning appears, https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/222
Guys you don't need to tag me and mention your Issues and PRs here every time, I go through every PR and Issue on GitHub regardless of whether it's mentioned here or not. Please try and avoid mentioning specific issues and PRs just to ask for reviews (unless there is some discussion about the issue or PR that needs to happen) as it creates unecessary spam.
@arctic slate I have raised PR for dsp. Please review it and have a discussion on it.

Hey Everyone,
Many people showcased their interests in contributing to the new-design. Suggest the unique parts that you want to contribute. Some parts I will be taking care of myself, so you can tell here in one line that what are you want to contribute, I will create the sub-issue and ask Madhav to assign it to the particular contributor. Also rather than taking upon big chunks and sections in once try to take up small parts and make them extremely refined, interactive and animated.
Hey @gloomy rune , could you please share your progress and let us know what stage you’re currently at?
like now which part you are implementing currently?
The navbar is done and merged. You guys can pick up parts from the design, interaction and other things.
could you please share link of figma here?

Anyone with a good approach can take this upon
I'm interested

Hii This is Akhinish Chouhan I am contributing for resonate language translation where I added marwari (mwr)
as @gloomy rune shared his work, I;d like to work where I can work on...?
Waiting for your response..
You can start working on sub-issues on resonate new website and if you want to work on Resonate app then you need to find issue and start working on it or you can also start working on not assigned issues
@trail pewter Okay but It would be great if youcan just tell me and let me know any issues which need help like I am also an unpaid Open Source Contributor in Elite Coders Winter of Code and Open Source Connect Global '2026 where in ECWoC I contributed in 4 projects and got merged 6 good quality PRs...
and also currently solving issue in oppia
That’s great to hear about your open-source contributions.
you can definitely ask @gloomy rune about new issues or feature ideas since they’re actively working on designing the new Resonate website. Happy to collaborate if something comes up.
@trail pewter Thank you for giving me opportunity to collaborate with you...
I will surely ask @gloomy rune...
I take it this issue can you review this https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/252#issuecomment-3863959909
Please note that due to the nature of these issues (Multiple contributors wanting to work on them), the workflow followed for these issues will be a little different than usual. Everyone can share their implementations, and the best one as selected by me and @gloomy rune will be accepted. Everyone who shares an implementation will be assigned to the issue as recognition for their effort, but only one PR will finally be merged.
hello @arctic slate sir ,
sorry for messaging here about PR
but it's important that's why i do that
i raised a pr and resolved all merge conflict and since this pr will change the entire folder structure of the migration of Resonate-Website that's why i ask you to review it first before merging any new pr considering old folder structure
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/221
@gloomy rune let's make sure to have https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/114 in the new design. Could you please modify the design for the related sections to accommodate this?
Sir @arctic slate please check my pull request on resonate app when you are free

Also, do you like these underlines, i think we better keep it simple and remove these underlines
Hi @arctic slate I’m planning to open a small website-scoped issue in the Resonate-Website repo around improving mobile responsiveness/accessibility . Just wanted to keep you in the loop before proceeding...pls let me know if that sounds fine..

Hi @arctic slate Hi! I’ve submitted a PR for Resonate-Website focused on improving the footer branding and visual hierarchy (Issue #271).
I’ve addressed the UI/UX concerns and updated color contrast (including the brand subtitle) based on CodeRabbit feedback. All checks are clean now.

Oh okay, sorry about that — thanks for letting me know!
I’ll wait for the GitHub review.
one more thing if you have raised a PR to an issue which is not yet assigned to you ,
this is likely to be closed , without review
if you have issues found then wait for it to get assigned then only raise PR
Hi! 👋 This is Srinjoyee Dey.
I’ve raised this issue (https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/281) after reviewing the codebase and current layout, as I believe it’s an important improvement for usability and project credibility.
I’d love to take ownership of this and work on the layout changes end-to-end. If this aligns with the project’s vision, I’d appreciate being assigned so I can start on the PR. I’m also happy to discuss and iterate based on feedback.
Thanks - looking forward to your thoughts!

I'll take a look at some PRs today
Hello Everyone,
I’m feeling much better now and time to move forward with completing the new design. I am currently re-checking a few implementation points that @arctic slate asked me to consider:
• Proper integration of the QR code in the new-design Figma file and getting it approved
• Disabling image dragging and selection in the new design
Additionally, I am considering the following improvements:
• Adding a Navbar button that scrolls directly to the Footer to improve contact accessibility
• Expanding the design system with standardized typography guidelines
• Creating sub-issues with clear interaction descriptions so other contributors can pick them up easily
Please let me know, @arctic slate, if there’s anything I might have missed. I’ll make sure to include it in my checklist.
Localized Website as well, but another contributor already has a PR open for that
i18n implementation by @eternal kelp is also completed
yup
Also since we will be adding glassmorphism and other effects, please make sure that the website is performant on mobile devices
Hey @gloomy rune good to hear that your are better now ,
I am happy if I will contribute on new sub issue which you will be create, please let me know I am actively looking for new issues .
@eternal kelp You are now level 4! :confetti_ball:
How about the approach of having the QR code on handheld mobile device in the hero section itself. @arctic slate . It would be immediately recognizable and will have beautiful design.
Please share a visual representation
Sure will send it soon.

I have submitted my demo video of navbar please check it
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/252#issuecomment-3871687229
hi @arctic slate Just to confirm, I’ll go ahead and start working on the responsiveness/accessibility fixes now.
Current i open the issues of skeleton and loading indicators what you think about it @gloomy rune
Is there a specific responsiveness/accessiblity issue that exists in the old design?
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/277
@arctic slate is this approach is ok?
Hi @arctic slate sir, I've recently proposed a enhancement and pr can you please check it as soon as it possible: https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/pull/293
Yeah, I did find after viewing the website in mobile view, a few of the minor problems.
- On smaller screens, the hero/navigation area feels cramped, making interaction with touch targets and reading rather hard.
- Basic accessibility features and more readable alt text for various images and components would be helpful..
I will only fix those issues of responsiveness and accessibility without touching the design since it is good as it is
Alt Text is already being added as part of another issue.
Could you share how/why you feel the hero section is cramped in more detail / share a sample of the changes you would make to it
Actually I wanted to ask about the livekit issue where some code rabbit suggestions are basically breaking the feature which is the reason I asked u
There
Got it as far as the Hero/Navigation area is concerned, at certain screen sizes, the distance between each element such as the text within the heading, subtext, and buttons can be perceived as somewhat condensed adjusting the vertical space/margin between each of these elements would greatly improve overall readability and tap accuracy without impacting overall design aesthetics...
I can generate a diff showing these changes for you to review
Now you can see new navbar design.https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/252#issuecomment-3886187708
@arctic slate What are your thoughts ?
It looks good
@calm thunder You are now level 6! :confetti_ball:
I am thinking of this mockup for the hero section and then subsequent sections will have redesigned Resonate app images.
I also loved this @calm thunder 🤩
Hey @gloomy rune
What was your opinion on this
I have replied on GitHub
I think it would be better situated next to the Download Buttons
Which download buttons ? Like in a different section or somewhere in the hero section itself ?
hey @arctic slate and @gloomy rune the cursor effect "Cricle magnifying glass" i use in navbar is good or i have to change it because after that this cursor is necessary to use in entire web that why i asking
Somewhere in this section might be a better iddea
idea
Or maybe a small QR in the taskbar beside the download button which enlarges on a hover? Do you think that might look good?
I don't think we have a cursor effect site-wide
so i can removed it
Adding here will also be good, but my main intention adding on the hero section at epicenter was the user psychology to act on emphasized things. What I mean by that the odds of users scanning it in the hero section itself is higher because it is emphasized there. We can also add in your suggested section but solely adding it here would be lesser compared to the hero section.
Secondly the taskbar one would hinder accessibility standards.
This was my thought process. I will implement it after your final call
Are you referring to a QR icon which opens in a modal box when clicked ?
@arctic slate what u think about this
@sudden yarrow You are now level 17! :confetti_ball:
@arctic slate reply when you feel free!!!!
hey @arctic slate @sudden yarrow
i was trying to setup the Resonate flutter app locally, went through the onboarding file
for now:
cloned the repo
switched to dev branch
commented out firebase
but on running still getting this, could u help 🙂
hello @arctic slate sir ,

@arctic slate what if we use BLoC State management library instead of Riverpod ? This will really help to write maintanaible and scalable code !
Ohhh it's again that kotlin error
Did u fixed the build file with the fix in the last lines
Hey @gloomy rune how’s your health? Are you feeling better?
yeah fixed for all non null in this way, it ran but throws firebase error as im confused what all to comment out to run the app smoothly...
Yeah, I am even working on a section. Waiting for i18n implemention so that I can raise a PR
hey @gloomy rune please review this i am waiting for your review https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate-Website/issues/252#issuecomment-3895212132
Yup, I have reviewd once again on github
@gloomy rune can you give me any references idea of something other for easy to understand.
improve upon Vanshit's base
Okk
@calm thunder You are now level 7! :confetti_ball:
hey @gloomy rune now see this updated design
It is still very different from what I am repeatedly suggesting. This version looks aggressive rather than subtle, dark hues instead of glass morphic effect and different hover states than planned.
ok again i am try to do...
i have need to change in light mode or in dark mode ??
both
ok if you have any references or any idea then please share it very helpful for further changes......
This
it is match in dark mode. if u see ?
Look at the difference in subtlety, first recreate this, as he was not able to bring this properly in light mode. You complete it and send iteration.
@gloomy rune You are now level 11! :confetti_ball:
ok then now i am creating same to same as this.
see this now
Still not the same, very different actuall
How, can you explain me brefily i think I am not able to understand that's why....
The main different thing is icon
There is only one icon is different
@gloomy rune
Hii this is Akhinish, I 'd like to work on sub-issue with you...
I talked with @trail pewter @arctic slate regarding this
it will be great if you could tell me what task I should do...?
You can explore the current sub-issues I have opened for contributors. Comment your interest, approach and sample on the sub-issue. Mentor will allot it to you.
@gloomy rune
sure it will be great if you could share me the link of main issue.... l
@floral saffron You are now level 2! :confetti_ball:
Hii @Bruno @arctic slate I have made a figma design for Resonate, I started with two design schemes, and made the homepage following them, i'm sharing the figma link (https://www.figma.com/design/pCkE7zDeMKhx2oXd9yn3xN/Resonate?node-id=0-1&t=1bdfFfFJuHIX3sFL-1)
Do let me know your views on by which design scheme, i should continue
Let me know which scheme you prefer, i'll start focusing on that one.
Hi @arctic slate
Just a gentle reminder regarding this PR:
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/755
This fixes Issue #612 (duplicate signup API calls on rapid taps). The issue was assigned to me, and I’ve implemented the fix by:
Adding an isLoading guard in signup() to prevent parallel requests
Disabling the Sign Up button while processing
Showing a loading indicator during the request
The changes are minimal and scoped only to preventing duplicate submissions.
Whenever you have time, I’d really appreciate a review. Happy to make any improvements if needed. Thanks!
I understand your POV. My concern with that is the fact that we aren't labelling the QR as a download QR, which is also necessary to let the users know that it is a download QR for Resonate. Additionally, so far we only have the Google Play Store as a platform but if we also deploy on the App Store in the future (which is definitely intended), then we would need to have separate QRs, unless we can design some smart routing logic that uses the same QR.
Not click, but on a hover
If they are hallucinations and you think that CodeRabbit is wrong, then you can leave them. Please specify within the comments itself why coderabbit is wrong.
Yes, please generate a diff
this might be due to a lack of signing keys. Please add a null check to the Signing Key Config part in the build.gradle. You can use AI to help you with this
This is being added to the new design, so I don't think it will necessary cause conflicts as that is still barely implemented, but I will make sure to get this one closed before others.
BLoC has a higher learning curve than Riverpod, and Riverpod's Freezed models are a better fit for Resonate. CodeGen also has better support for Riverpod.
Looks like these are Website Designs. A Design by @gloomy rune was already selected and finalized for overhauling the website, and work on it is underway. For this reason, alternative designs will not be accepted at the moment. However, you are welcome to iterate on and improve his design if you feel the potential to do so.
Understood. Actually, when I was creating the custom QR code through a website. They provided the exact solution for this; creating a routing for PlaySotre, Appstore and even any other download links just like Linktree via single QR. Hence, based on your feedback we can do two things:
- I send you another iteration with labelling of the QR on the hero mockup with the future approach of above.
- I send you a version with Navbar and Tile addition of QR code. While, also having option to select between iOS and android QR codes.
PS: One thing that might become hindersome is the hover effect it will break some accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1.1 and WCAG 1.4.13. It suggests that functional elements must be click based modal, as it is a more accessible approach in terms of keyboard, focus ring and it will also provide us with the functionality to switch between QR codes if we are not using any external routing.
Using a separate service is not recommended, as it adds external dependency. A Linktree is also a suboptimal approach, as I think it is poor UX for a user to have to go to a separate page before he goes to a download page.
Can we try 2 please?
I assume Tile here refers to the part where the buttons for the download are
However, like you mentioned, a CTA in the hero section is also important, so perhaps instead of 1 we can have something like a Download Now button on the phone in the centre
@arctic slate You are now level 32! :confetti_ball:
Okay got it!
“Sorry for being inactive for the past few days. I’ve been dealing with a fever and was unwell.”
Is anybody suggest me some issues in which we have to work now or working ?
I think we are working or website
Am i right ?
Is there a need for the app's redesigning as well? If there is, let me know. I would be happy to redesign the mobile app's UI. And do suggest me other orgs whose's website design is still pending
While there isn't a "need" to do that, if the design can be improved, we would welcome the contribution. As for websites, you can take a look at other projects, as most projects don't have a website
Sir @arctic slate I find one issue that it is accepting 2026 year birth as well I think this issue needs to fix
I create the issue for it if it's ok please assign me sir
Yaa i believe the mobile app's UI can be improved a lot and I would propose a figma design for that soon.
I am also working on the Resonate app's mobile UI
Okk, if there's a help needed, i would be happy to collab
@arctic slate are there any other projects whose figma is already accepted ?
yeah done . Can you please review once and tell if any changes are needed
Heyyyy it's my issue I k exactly what was wrong happening
I am really sorry to maintainer that I was quite inactive from months due to pathetic reasons but I will complete my open issues
Hi everyone! 👋
Just a quick follow-up on PR #159 (fix for issue #142 — adding the missing "await" in the LiveKit webhook room cleanup).
The changes are small, tested locally, and should resolve the async cleanup issue.
Whenever you get a chance, I’d really appreciate a review. Happy to make any changes if needed.

Hi @arctic slate i've opened a PR addressing the mobile hero spacing adjustment we discussed
Please feel free to review whatever convenient.....
@arctic slate Thoughts ?
Secondly, here on desktop it would be a button to switch between QR codes but on mobile it would be directly button to the store. And if someone wants to go to the playstore link via desktop the download button is always there! (Because some people use Install on my phone feature from desktop playstore)
Hows it look in mobile ??
It's really nice
Looks good. Does this meet accessibility and readability standards?
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/757
Hi @arctic slate
I’ve opened PR #757 for Resonate and would really appreciate it if you could take a look when you get time.
In this PR, I focused on improving defensive handling in the AI service
mainly strengthening JSON parsing and adding proper guards to avoid runtime crashes from unexpected API responses. The functionality remains unchanged; it just makes the parsing safer and more robust.
Happy to make any adjustments if needed. Thanks!
Yeah, it does. Don't worry about the top on cosmetics. I will bring glass effect and other little small elements to make better interaction.
Hi @arctic slate , I’ve submitted PRs adding the standardized .coderabbit.yaml configuration file to the following repositories:

Hi @arctic slate
I’ve submitted PR #306 implementing the official YouTube social link addition as discussed in Issue #305. The implementation follows the existing react-icons pattern for consistency.
Please review and merge when convenient. Happy to make any changes if needed.
I add YouTube social links as per recommended
https://github.com/AOSSIE-Org/Resonate/pull/769
Looks good then, we can go ahead with this. As a side note, I would appreciate if you could also rethink the flow of the download button once, as that has the same issue right now. Although we only have a Google Play Store deployment right now, that would also need to support App Store Deployments in the future, so perhaps you can create an alternate design that we can switch to in the future
Understood, that I have this in mind:
We can merge the QR button and Download button together and if redirection to the playstore or appsotre's desktop counterpart is required then we can also give the button in modal itself. I will send you design if you like the appraoch ?
hey @everyone
I have been exploring the newly created issues on the AOSSIE Resonate repository and noticed that many students are opening unnecessary issues and submitting pull requests immediately—often within 15–30 minutes—without waiting for assignment or guidance from the maintainers.
This behavior creates additional workload for the maintainers and makes it difficult for them to manage genuine contributions effectively. Open-source contribution is not a race; it requires patience, understanding of the project, and meaningful input.
Contributors are encouraged to raise issues that genuinely help improve the project and to wait for maintainers to review and assign them before submitting pull requests. Creating PRs without prior discussion or approval can lead to confusion and inefficiency.
Please be patient, follow the project’s contribution guidelines, and focus on quality rather than speed.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
That’s a valid point. Quality and clarity should always come first. Let’s make sure we align well on issues before moving forward with PRs.
If anyone is stuck on an issue or needs help reviewing or debugging something, feel free to tag me or assign it. I’m happy to collaborate and support where I can.

Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Hamid, a developer looking to contribute to
Resonate this GSoC season.
I just found and fixed a memory leak in the website — GSAP timelines
in page.jsx weren't being cleaned up, causing the heap to grow from
6.7MB to 31.5MB on scroll. I've raised an issue with heap snapshot
evidence and opened a PR with the fix.
Would love if a mentor could take a look when they get a chance!

Solid debugging work 👏 If you need another round of testing on different environments after review, happy to help validate the fix.
Sure that would be helpful but before proceeding further lets see what the mentors thinks about it. Also if there is anything particular i can work do let me know.
Absolutely, that sounds good. Let’s wait for the mentors to review it whenever they have the time — I know they might be busy.
Once they share feedback, we can take it forward accordingly. Happy to collaborate if needed.
I don't think I understood this. If making a visualization isn't too hard, please do that
Yes. For org wide ideas you will be expected to work on all projects

Hi everyone @arctic slate @prime walrus @tidal nova , I dug into the codebase today and found that themeColor and
viewport are incorrectly placed inside the metadata export
in layout.js. Since Next.js 13.4+, these need their own
separate viewport export otherwise Next.js warns and they
may not apply correctly in the browser. Also any comments on my GSAP memory leak issue? pls do let me know about it and also about this , thank you waiting for your reply.

Good catch on the metadata issue 👍 The separation for viewport and themeColor in Next 13.4+ is the correct approach.
One small thing — I noticed the PR is targeting the main branch. It should be opened against the dev branch instead, since that’s where active changes are being merged. You might want to retarget it to dev.
noticed and i will be careful next time. Thank you

It's duplicate of #306
fine but i have not do any major chnage's, and only few lines of code changes in my issue, it is easy to understand
This looks really good. When on mobile, is there a way to detect the platform of the device running it to automatically handle redirections to stores?
If not, what would the modal look like on Mobile?
Alternatively if you want to try and simplify the design, the Download Now button could scroll the user down to the section where we are already listing the download options
Yes it is possible by user agent detection
The download button will redirect to respective stores in different devices.
How is project going ?
Hi @arctic slate,
I have completed the initial standardisation of typography and attached a short screen recording for your review.
I extracted all the typography styles from the Figma design and converted them into semantic Files tokens using variables (font size, weight, line height, etc.) to make them reusable and consistent across components.
While reviewing the Figma file, I noticed that a few headings and sub-headings have slight inconsistencies in font size and font weight across sections. To maintain a clean and scalable system, I normalised them into a proper structured hierarchy (e.g., consistent heading levels and corresponding weights) while ensuring there is no visual regression from the approved design.
going good
Got it 👍 I mentioned it because there was already an open PR (#306) addressing the same YouTube link addition.
Since the functionality overlaps, it’s better we avoid duplicate implementations and keep everything consolidated in one PR. We can align on the existing one or merge improvements there if needed.
please check this @arctic slate then i push my code

Hi @arctic slate I’ve been checking out the Resonate repo and I’d like to overhaul the current design and significantly improve the UI. I noticed there’s an upcoming idea around org-wide UI/UX improvements, and I think this project would be a great place to start.
The current website feels quite basic visually and structurally, and I’m confident I can modernize the layout, improve hierarchy, spacing, and overall polish, as you’ve seen in my work for Zplit’s UI. If you’re okay with it, I’ll create a detailed plan with the proposed changes and start as soon as i get the green flag. 😊

Sir @arctic slate ,whenever you’re free, could you please take a look at a few of my PRs? I’d really appreciate your review and feedback.
Hello, there are separate ideas for landing pages and UI/UX. The UI/UX Idea is meant to improve on the specific products, for example in the case of Resonate, that of the Mobile App. As far as Resonate's landing page is concerned, an overhauled design was already accepted and development for that is underway, but you can try and improve the Mobile App's design as part of the UI/UX Idea if you want
I am a little busy these days, will look at all the PRs when I get the chance
I think there is a misunderstanding here @calm thunder , you took the issue for new-design but made changes for the main-design. Also by standardizing typography means here to add the typography tokens in the design system and make the respctive changes in tailwind for existing fonts.
Hello @arctic slate sir

Hey everyone! 👋 I'm cannonerd007, currently contributing to AOSSIE for GSoC.
I just raised issue #319 on the Resonate-Website repo about adding a CI/CD
pipeline with GitHub Actions for linting, build verification & PR checks.
@arctic slate , @teal skiff could you please assign it to me? I'm ready to submit a PR!
@tender cargo @idle badger @twilit prism @arctic slate @spark topaz Hello mentors, apologies for the interruption. I hope you're doing well.
I wanted to reach out regarding a potential GSoC idea related to this year’s sustainability theme. This idea was originally suggested by the admin, and I have been working on refining it by outlining some features, researching its feasibility, and preparing a small draft explaining the motivation and possible implementation approach.
As advised, I am currently looking for a mentor who might be willing to review the idea and guide it further for the GSoC phase. I would be very grateful if you could take a look at the draft and share your thoughts or feedback. If this aligns with your interests, it would be great if you could also join the sustainability channel where the discussion is ongoing.
I understand everyone is busy, so I truly appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you.
Idea sounds cool. Can we move the discussion to another channel? cc https://discord.com/channels/1022871757289422898/1476881027560505437
Hi everyone @arctic slate @umbral fractal @prime walrus ,
I’ve prepared a draft version of my GSoC proposal for Resonate (focused on architectural hardening and scalability improvements).
I’m sharing the draft here for feedback and alignment. I’d really appreciate any suggestions from mentors and contributors before final submission.
Thank you.
The biggest issue I see here is that the tasks mentioned are not sufficient to qualify this for a Large Project. While the timeline assigns multiple weeks for these tasks, the tasks by themselves are small and should not take that long.
Also, while contributors don't necessarily have to follow the ideas listed by the Org, in the case of Resonate, those ideas are important improvements to the codebase. Adding those to your existing ideas would also fix the timeline issue.
Also, there are some formatting issues in the proposal, please check that
Thank you for the detailed feedback, Sir. That makes sense.
I’ll expand the scope to include the official Resonate improvement ideas and restructure the proposal to justify the Large project timeline.
I’ll also refine the formatting and reshare an improved draft soon.
@arctic slate I wanted to ask a question regarding proposals. Can a proposal be a mix of two ideas like landing pages and UI/UX and span across multiple projects with proper timelines and checkpoints. Since both these ideas are structured such that they can accompany multiple projects. Your guidance will really help.
The UI/UX and Landing Pages Idea are separate and big ideas. Both of them encompass every project under AOSSIE. It will be impossible for one contributor to give their best if we were to select the same one for both of them, so I don't think we will be selecting the same contributor for both ideas.
However, as per GSoC rules, you can submit upto 3 proposals, which can also be within the same org. So if you want to apply for both ideas, you can do so by submitting two separate proposals, one for each idea.
@gloomy rune
However, to clarify, you may only be selected for one idea. So even if you are selected, it will not be for both ideas. But since Open Source Contribution isn't about a reward at the end of the day, you can still contribute to both projects should you wish to.
Understood, Thanks a lot that is great info.
Proposal review is that started? Or can 2 contributor get selected in project or is tht not allowed ?
To contribute effectively to Resonate, could maintainers clarify which areas are current high priority - bugs, documentation, accessibility, or feature expansion?
@amber thistle You are now level 2! :confetti_ball:
You can share draft proposals here before submission and I can give some feedback on it.
Regarding how many contributors will get selected per project, that is not fixed, it will depend on the needs of the project. For example, if 2 contributors propose changes that we feel are important to have and based on the available slots we can spare 2 slots to Resonate, then we may select 2 contributors.
I don't think there's anything inherently high priority as of now that isn't already being undertaken.
Could you check if the app on the dev branch works in release mode without issues?
sure
hey @arctic slate just a gentle follow-up on the hero spacing PR whenever you get time....

Whenever you have time, could you please take a look and share your suggestions? I’d really appreciate your guidance before the final submission. Thank you.
I really like how the footer has turned out. Any reviews @arctic slate
This bacground movement interaction is only happening when the user scrolls and freezes when user doesn't
Will take a look soon
Looks good!
It does look a little off when the animation stops. Can it stop at a point where the curves are formed again
@arctic slate You are now level 36! :confetti_ball:
Or can the animation be a little different? (The line maintains the shape but appears to be moving forwards)
It always stops at a random curve.
At stopped state or scrolling state ?
Interaction is same as right now, but the animation be a little different is what I am proposing
It needs a forward translating effect while scrolling, is that what you mean ?
Yes, I think forward translation is the right term.
Sure, I will update the PR with this effect after testing it locally.
Sir could you please review my proposal if you are free today and can I get some feedback about it
@arctic slate I have updated my BackgroundTile and Footer with the requested change to translate the line in x-direction.

Hey im new one here , can you assign me some work as i want to be a part of contribution
Do you want to contribute to Resonate Website or Resonate App ?
You can explore either the new-design issues or the current design.
i also want to be a part of your family in gsoc
@gloomy rune ok ok . I understand .I'll try to check out new issues
Yes, I think this looks better. What do you think?
A lot of these sections shouldn't be in the proposal. Because we have changed our application process this year, a chunk of this information will be part of the autogenerated document that you recieve after filling out the Google Form for Application. The PDF you make yourself must only contain the idea and it's description. Also, this reads a lot like an AI Generated Proposal. Please do not use AI to generate GSoC Proposals.
Yes, I agree. I feels more natural

Ok sir i do work on it and . I use ai mostly for diagrams generated and i use some extra tools with it to analyse the complete problem in a codebase and also for little grammer mistakes .
I will improve it as per your recommendation .
Thank you for your feedback

Hi @arctic slate , I wanted to ask that while writing the proposal, I am documenting a lot of what I had done in Resonate Website work because it serves as a audited and improved structured blueprint of how my implementation for further websites will occur, which is why it would be really fruitful for mentors to see the process I follow. Hence would you advise me this approach ? Including the design and their decisions of projects along with the architectural, functional or feature level detailing in the proposal ?
Hi, @arctic slate I contributed to the Resonate app earlier and I’m exploring the current GSoC ideas. I noticed the website is being updated, while the app seems feature-complete.
Should contributors focus mainly on improving the app’s architecture (state management, backend, testing), or is there also significant work expected on the website side?
Yes, that is a good idea. In general, you should aim to be as thorough with your proposal as possible, as that is the only thing mentors see before ranking proposals at the end of the day. Your proposal should be your best foot forward that is representative of your goals, your skills and your motivations. Also, it is good to include things like flowcharts, code samples and other visualizations as applicable in the proposal
For the website, as you pointed out, a major overhaul is ongoing. However in the context of Resonate as an idea for GSoC, this would focus more on the Mobile App and the Appwrite Backend, as the website is part of the org wide Website idea. Yes, the architectural improvements are expected to be a major part of the proposals for Resonate this year, but if you have a feature you think can be added into the app without it counting as feature bloat, you are welcome to propose those as ideas as well.
Thanks a lot, this aligns perfectly
Also, I had a lot of progress with my work on Resonate website locally. If you can check my existing PRs for new-design whenever you get free. I will be able to cleanly create new PRs for all the new work. I think the main structure will be completed soon enough. Thanks again
Sir @arctic slate @prime walrus ,I am facing issue while uploading my detailed description in aossie google form can you look at it please
Is there any words limit ??
There is pdf uploading option Few days ago and I have completed all the work but today I found today that the pdf uploading option is gone
I’m planning to focus on architectural improvements (modularization + better state management) along with implementing an offline-first sync system to improve reliability and performance. Does this align with the project goals?

why firebase_options and flutter_lyric (https://github.com/Aarush-Acharya/flutter_lyric.git) does not exist ? @arctic slate
Hi there,
Is there anyone available who have resonate, up and running in their system. Needed a small help?
@restive thicket You are now level 3! :confetti_ball:
Yes, the requirements were changed
You can submit the associated word document
Your proposals look like they were written in overleaf, if that is the case, you can check and see if they can be converted into Google Docs documents.
The architectural improvements, yes, definitely. How would the offline-first sync system work?
firebase_options contains sensitive information specific to the firebase projects the app is connected to, so it was removed from the commit tree. It is injected by our CI pipeline at compile time. You can set up a local project if you want to use firebase in the app. As for the flutter_lyric package, I am not sure. it was a fork by a previous mentor (@idle badger ), He might have deleted the fork recently. @idle badger could you please confirm this.
Yes, go ahead. What is the issue?
Hi @arctic slate , I was working on the UI/UX design for the Resonate app. I just wanted to clarify something, which is:
Should I not change the information architecture of the current app (The way current app has existing functionalities on screens) or do I have the liberty to completely overhaul it ?
I don't think there is so much of an issue with changing the User Flow of the application, as long as the newer user flow is better. As an open source project, we don't have to worry about losing revenue with new layouts for example, so we have freedom when it comes to that. What are you thinking about doing?
When I went through the app, I felt there is a lot of potential in improving the flow as well and introducing interconnected features other than the visual enhancements. But at the same time I understood that it would be a megalith of structural changes. Which is why I wanted to confirm
Some of the flows include
- The way channels are presented to user
- Interaction between participants
- Pairing workflow
- Profile Functionalities
and many other
Hi @arctic slate! I’m working on a GSoC proposal for AOSSIE focused on improving SEO, discoverability, and social sharing across projects.
This would involve adding things like proper metadata (Open Graph, Twitter Cards), structured data (JSON-LD), sitemap/robots setup, and optional integrations like SocialShareButton and a lightweight engagement prompt system.
Before finalising my proposal, I wanted to check — would you be open to SEO-related improvements and PRs for your Resonate Website?
Happy to share more details or tailor changes to your codebase if needed.
In general, I would say for a UI Redesign changing the flow is acceptable at this stage but do not combine new features with a different app flow. If you have good features to propose, we can come back to that at a later stage.
Understood
Definitely, that would be appreciated.
Please design a Widescreen layout as well. The App wasn't designed with widescreens in mind originally, and it looks very bad on tablets, to say the least.
nothing big, just needed the screenshots of the current app
is the screenshots on github the latest?
Should be. Check the play store listing folder.
thanks
I have filled the form now successfully but before submitting can we improve little text or heading or can add images ??
Thanks❤

Hi, @arctic slate
I am Rajat, from the community session you attended on Wednesday.
As I said due to the limits in the google doc format, I am quite worried about my proposal getting cut even before review.
Any feedback at a glance, however small would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance 🙏
P.S. I know it looks bad to show another project in this group, as this is about resonate. However tagging madhav at the other project, would have looked even worse. I sincerely apologize for this.
Sir @arctic slate ,I have uploaded my proposal on gsoc portal please review it when you are free and suggest some improvement if needed .
Thank you
Why is it not available
Yes
Please share the proposal here for review
I believe the app is using a fork on your account
Oh no
@idle badger You are now level 8! :confetti_ball:
You are using a special package in the application
I think of that, too
It's fine, can you try switching to the public instance @opal hull ?
I would recommend filling the form and then formatting the autogenerated proposal as you want. The reason for this is that we are expecting a standardized format of proposal, which makes it easier for us to process all proposals. While undoubtedly you have more freedom this way, but we would still recommend using the same flow as the autogenerated proposal and then formatting that to make it align with your vision.
For the content, I believe you can probably cut back a little on the "Why" for the project, as these are things that the mentor would already be aware of.
For a more detailed review @ebon knoll would be better as he is mentoring OpenLLM
Ok I will try the official one and tell you
Please review it sir @arctic slate and suggest some improvement if needed . So I can submit this
Hi @arctic slate , The hero section was completed with pixel perfection. I have completed the mockup animation till the first section. More would be added when subsequent sections would be created. Currently the mockup reaches exactly till the point where it is required in the second section. Do let me know any reviews or improvements I can make
Yes, my idea is to introduce a lightweight offline-first layer focused on improving data availability and reducing redundant API calls rather than a full offline rewrite.
For example, for room-related flows, I plan to cache frequently accessed data such as room details and join responses locally (using GetStorage or a structured local data source).
The flow would be:
• On request → first check local cache and return instantly if available
• Then fetch latest data from Appwrite in the background
• Update cache and notify UI if there are changes
For write operations (like join/create room), the API call would still be executed immediately, but the response would be cached to avoid repeated calls.
This approach keeps the system simple while improving performance and reliability, especially in unstable network conditions. It also serves as a foundation for a more structured repository + data source pattern where remote and local data handling are clearly separated.
Let me know if this direction makes sense or if you'd prefer focusing more strictly on architectural refactoring without introducing caching at this stage.
@arctic slate I have tried as I told you, it works thanks.

Hello sir @arctic slate , I have one question Can I submit 2 ideas for the single project
Fill the form again to ensure the data on the Form is up to date.
What do you mean
Means like one idea is about features or new implementation things or second one idea is like to improve the existing feature
And follow the idea which is mention in gsoc plan
@arctic slate do we have to show the auto generated proposal in here
first
before submiting
?
Not necessary, but if you want to get it reviewed before submission then yes, as we are only doing public reviews this year.
You can add both in the same proposal. If you think some tasks might not fit in your timeline, just add them as optional tasks and label the section as tasks you might work on if you finish ahead of time
Just a first look for the approach

However, when I try to submit it on the official GSoC portal, it shows “Program Phase Error 2026 – Please try again later.”
I tried refreshing, incognito mode, and logging in again, but the issue persists.
Is anyone else facing this, or is this a temporary portal-side issue?
Thanks.
Well actually the gsoc application phase is already over and contributors are selected
Ok thank you

Hey @rain summit @arctic slate I am new here, and would like to know if there is anything I can help you guys with . Thank you
Hey @small sapphire, A good starting point would be to go through the "CONTRIBUTING.md", "README.md", and "ONBOARDING.md" files to understand the project structure, setup process, and contribution workflow.
Try setting the project up locally and building it on your machine. While exploring the codebase, keep an eye out for bugs, improvements, or features that you think could be valuable for the project. If you find something, feel free to open an issue for discussion.
Alternatively, you can look through the open issues as well.
