#Automatic (AI assisted?) subject masking - Unified Canvas

Something like the magic wand in PS would be great. Especially if you could give it a sample of the thing you want to select and the AI could then prepare a selection based on that. For instance, if I have a picture of a big leafy plant on a table and I draw a circle that contains one of the leaves, it would know I'm looking for those green colors and generate a mask based on that. I have no idea if this is possible lmao but just wanted to mention it. Even if it were less feature intense, some sort of automatic subject selection would be a much better starting point than having to always airbrush.

I believe it could be achieved with depth maps, when we get diffusers and sd2.1

we really need to treat pixels like ideas and not colors. ideally not only would we be able to select ideas, but also brush in where we want ideas, similar to canvas/mask but with brushes.

i understand the tech is still new tho.

something like lama cleaner is exactly what we need for unified canvas. you can in paint to replace with the background or add in anything you want.

im assuming invoke ai can do this to a degree already tho. i havent gotten that far yet lol.

what I really want is multiple layers on the canvas + bg remover (like magic lasso tool). This will allow users to combine any images on the canvas and then process them as one.
