You could can escape but its much harder which makes it more fun, because its very easy to escape when ender pearls are allowed.

how about instead of ender pearls we had nether pearls and when u throw them u spawn 1000x1000 lava for 2 hours and it one shots only way to stop it is with the overworld pearl which spawn 1000x1000 water
