Does Quantize to Scale respect the full scale/mode definition from Live, or only the root key? For example, would A Minor, A Dorian, and A Phrygian each produce different quantization results?

No, there is no "quantize to scale" in the drop-down window or when selecting all notes within a clip and right-clicking to view the drop-down window. There is only Quantize. It’s such a useful tool you would think Ableton would include it, but that’s what Extensions are here for, I guess !

ok yea i just tested it with two midi files great job ill probably use this everyday. looking fwd to what elese youre developing

Doesn’t « fit to scale » do the same in the MIDI clip main panel ?

yes, I think there's room to make a "real" quantization utility, that would eventually quantize to only the root note when set at 100%, and to tonic notes at 50% etc.

it would work better as a MIDI Transformation tool though, so that you could see the result while adjusting it

Yeah, because in a lot of the music we love, there are notes that are out of scale. I was thinking about this as well and how to account for MIDI files that are like this.
