Now, when you right-click a MIDI clip, a score editor opens directly inside Live.

Any edits made in the score can be written back to the clip immediately, making it possible to move seamlessly between MIDI programming and notation entirely within Live.

I tried building a feature using the new Extensions SDK in Ableton Live 12.4 beta.

Interesting. Is this feature native to Ableton or a third party plugin?

I built this using Ableton’s new Extensions feature, so I suppose it counts as a third-party plugin.

Due to the current limitations of Ableton’s Extensions API, it’s not really designed for use during playback.

However, it can instantly show the contents of a MIDI clip.

Are the midi notes directly written into the notation editor?

If my son plays a piece of music on his drum kit, will this convert what he hits into notation so that I can check it against actual sheet music, to ensure he is playing the music with perfect timing?
