#MPE not working on P3 in Live 12.2.7 on Mac in controller mode

This is my configuration: Push connected directly to the Mac in Control Live Mode, Live 12.2.7 and Push set to "Control Live Mode"
This is how Push is set
Loading MIDI Monitor (choose the MPE tab in the device) on the first track shows this
looking at Ableton's midi monitor on the track, nothing at all is happening for PB or slide, still. Pressure and velocity are working, still.
On Push the expression settings are MPE mode and notes pitch bend automatic. I even tried setting the Push epxression setting to pb on, as @naive heath suggested was more reliable
Clearly something is blocking Live from seeing the pb and slide data
Ok. This is what I’d do before checking with our devs:
- Using a different USB cable
- Reinstalling Live
- Resetting Live https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209070609-How-to-reset-Live
Resetting Ableton Live returns the application to its default state. Performing a reset of Live can help rule out any problematic custom settings or template files when troubleshooting.

To reinstall live, do I just re-download it and run the installer?
I don’t need to delete it or anything right?
So, I switched the USB cable, and no change.
I reinstalled Live, and no change.
Now I will reset Live.
OK, resetting live = still nothing from PB or slide.

Can you turn off the checkboxes on both Ableton Push ports?

New issue, Live is NOT SEEING Push in standalone mode, and can't connect to it despite both of them being on the same wifi network... Argh!

My Push is showing it is running Push 2.3b17, but it also says that it is up to date. Do I need Live 12.3 installed for it to update to Push 2.3 full release?

very very slow update to push 2.3, but it does appear to be uploading... It's at 2% after several minutes...
