Hey, I'm having trouble removing an AU plugin. I haven't experienced this in 10+ years of using Ableton... I've deleted the AU from the components folder, rescanned my plugin list, emptied the bin, and yet the plugin continues to be there in my list (and also opens!). Why is it still showing up??

I'm on Ableton 12.1.5, macOS 15.2 w/ m-series chip. The plugin in question is Fors Tela modal synth AU.

Have you tried restarting your Mac?

According to the manual, Tela is installed in ~/Library/Audio

Can you double-check that folder?

You can also hold Option when you click the rescan button to force the rescanning of all the plugins

Hey, yes I've deleted it from ~/Library/Audio which is why I'm confused it's still there. Also I've restarted multiple times since deleting... and emptied the bin!

I didn't know about option+rescan, thanks for that! I've just done it and unfortunately the Tela AU is still there and still opens.

Uh! That’s really odd. Have you also checked the Audio folder in Macintosh HD (not in the User’s folder)?

Yep, Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components is where I deleted it yet the AU is still there in my plugins in ableton.

I even reinstalled it and deleted it again but it just won't go

D'oh!!! You're right, it was in ~/Library/Audio along with the CLAP. 😅
