#Ableton can't find some VSTS

Are the VSTs you're talking about:
- VST2 32-bit
- VST2 64-bit
- VST3 64-bit
?
VST3 64-bit
Have you installed them to the system default folder on your system?
There's no such thing as 32-bit VST3 plugins, only VST2 32-bit plugins.
Ableton Live hasn't supported 32-bit plugins since Live 10
you cant use 32 bit vst?
in fl studio it comes up as VST 32
What version of Ableton Live are you using?
not vst3
live 12
Live 12 does not support 32-bit plug-ins
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Because 32-bit plugins are ancient
but good
They are ancient, inefficient, and prone to stability issues.
If you are dead-set on using 32-bit plug-ins, you may have some success with this
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209772465-Converting-32-bit-plug-ins-using-jBridge-Win
Important note
Note: Ableton Support does not provide any technical support for issues using converted plug-ins. If you're running into issues, contact jBridge support.
thats just long tho
That's your only option to use ancient plug-ins within Ableton Live 12
You can use that plug-in, you just have to make sure it's in the correct folder and make sure you've enabled VST2 plug-ins within Ableton Live.
YESS its working!!
i didnt have custom vst2 folder enable
appreciate the help
👍
If you have Max for Live in your Ableton Live edition, you may be interested to know that there is a modern remake of Camel Crusher within Max for Live
The Free Library of Max for Live Devices
thats cool, thanks ill check it out
Bear in mind as well; if you're going to use VST2 plug-ins and you experience crashes in Ableton Live, I would personally be looking at those plug-in instances as the culprit first.
is there a way i can both my sample and 808s at the same time without my drums? when i click on the S it only can play one
Sorry, your question isn't clear enough, I don't understand what you're asking or what you're trying to do.
i hope this image explains it
whenever i only want to hear one section of the beat i dont want to have to delete the drums
or drag the sample and 808s on a clear part of playlist
hold Ctrl and click on the Solo button for each track you want to solo, then you can solo multiple tracks at once
wow i swear i tried that
i mustve holded shift instead
thanks
👍
Iirc they technically do exist, and I have seen them a few times, but it's like... why would anyone make or install those?
Are you using an ARM based Macintosh?
I'm 90% certain the reason why you're only seeing the AU versions is because you have the Intel versions of those plugins installed.
https://www.mothersruin.com/software/Apparency/
This will help you determine if it is an Intel only build. Simply open the .vst3 files within Apparency and it'll tell you
AU plug-ins can run in Rosetta mode without the DAW needing to run in Rosetta mode (which is confusing, I know)
I'm not sure about that, I don't use Bitwig Studio.
If those plug-ins end up actually being universal binaries, I'm not sure what else would be causing the issue.
Is this Decibel? https://process.audio/en/products/decibel
If so, I just downloaded the latest version and checked the binary it installs — it is a universal binary, so works for both ARM and Intel based machines.
Yeah so as long as you have the latest version installed, it should be the universal binary
If you're sure you have the latest versions installed, and that you have VST3 plug-in system folders enabled, you could force a rescan of your plug-ins by holding Option and then clicking Rescan
Does anyone know anyway i can get Ableton to ‘not find’ the Apple Audio Units? I dont use then and would like to delete or hide them if possible, any insight would be greatly appreciated 👍
I think that will hide all of my audio units though, its just the apple ones i wish to hide (or delete)
thanks anyway 👍
Oh right, sorry I didn't understand that you specifically meant the ones supplied by Apple. I think you only get those if you have installed Logic Pro.
I never installed Garbageband on my machine, so I wouldn't know
what do you class as the ‘correct folder’?
Have you checked the Vital.vst3 file to make sure it is actually a universal binary?
Can you show a screenshot of your plug-in settings screen from Ableton Live?
Live doesn't scan for VST3 by default, for some reason. You have to turn that on explicitly.
This works for me; create a plugin folder and install your plugins to that folder. When you open ableton, browse the custome folder with all the installations there. I hope it helps
