You also could have used the mpx which would have let you kill both of them since you had the first shot advantage

leaning isnt that useful in this mode because mpx just kills faster than other automatics to legs

Your best bet was to use mpx when you got it, lay prone after shooting them for you teammates to cover you

I have always liked the thought to use some of those kinds of helmets but I'm paranoid about not being able to hear noises at "walking" level and can only hear gunshots/running near them.

ABMH it is not recommended for any playstyle to use a sound blocking helmet if you are playing solo, the ability to hear enemies is crucial to your success considering you wont have any teammates to provide intel, the only exception to this is the IND70 helmet which uses low sound blocking but allows you to use a headset

I remember way back in season 6 I tried making those helmets work w/ the hearing enhancement drug that was sold in contacts(still being sold this season I think) but having only 15 in stock at a time kinda killed that build for me.

Side note, still have a hard time doing the one challenge mission that need kills past 75m while sedated and enhanced hearing. I thought the hearing drug in contacts or the one hearing experimental drug(plus painkillers) was enough but I heard(not sure?) that I need the rng drug(the rainbow looking one) and roll a sedated and a hearing buff on it?

Despite the 64 base dmg on the LRN, the three SMGs deals less than that

Whereas most 9x19mm SMG gives 0 or more dmg bonus depending on the gun

You're facing a potentially +14 dmg difference instead of +10

In CN version, I had two occasions where I was so stressed about completing a particularly tricky mission that I straight up rushed my target and got gunned down

One was killing Doss, and one was killing a player

I was hyper-fixated on just taking Doss out and book it, so I did the dumb thing and ignored his guards instead of taking them out patiently one by one

As for the player... It was a task to kill a player each with bolt action, SMG, and assault rifle within a single raid

During that raid, I had 2/3 done and only missing the assault rifle kill. I even located a third player... But I died firing potshots at them at 70m

In hindsight, I could've just run from cover to cover to approach the last player. Plus, I was using ak74n with tier 1 ammo, it was dumb trying to do long range combat with that setup

Sidenote: After that raid, I got a bit mad and lost two more matches trying to do the mission

After realising that I was loosing my cool, I just quit and call it a day.

And I did do some tests before

Basically, if you numerise the armor stats:
T6 = 60 anti-pen
T5 = 50 anti-pen
...
And so on, you get the idea

T4, with 40 anti-pen, going against ammo:

With 60-69 pen, offers no dmg reduction at all
With 50-59 pen, offers around 10% dmg reduction
With 40-49 pen, offers around 20% dmg reduction, with a slight chance of blocking the shot
With 30-39 pen, offers around 30% dmg reduction with decent chance of blocking the shot
With 20-0 pen, completely blocks the shot, shredding the armor until it pierce gives 40% dmg reduction

To keep it simple, in order for armor to completely block bullets there needs to be 2 levels worth of differences (And vice-versa)

To completely block T3 bullets, you need at least T5 to be completely safe from it... Before it shreds your armor durability, you're very safe at least

I don't know how structural strength affects blocking, but it does affect the dmg reduction

Not really? Against those players yes, if against other less experienced players then sure it could work. But the main problem is that their cosmetic green outfit doesn't render at distance and could get spotted since the player model is the default Tan colored one at distance before rendering.

Tbh, the main disadvantage of thermal is side or peripheral vision. They have to scan twice as much than non thermal users.
