It's just that latent space often has multiple ways to reach the same things so specific negative prompts might be more or less effective or fight the prompt in weird ways, but they do work (sometimes with a bit of trial and error)

My takeaway is that sometimes you strike gold with negative prompting, but most of the time you're just removing all depth information or manipulating the color, the former giving a children's book appearance and the latter usually being pretty rainbow. (This is because the implicit aspects of the prompt are often stronger than the explicit parts, e.g. playdough is actually 3D.) If anyone has any interesting ideas here, let me know!
