Yes, that's how the beta upscaler works. It is extremely faithful and highly reproducible

Another thing I do is my original image won't take on v4 it gets NSFW error but if I run it through Niji I can then take the Niji image and it will take in V4 without triggering NSFW I guess due to the difference between being photograph or cartoonlike.

Happy accident moment! I hit Light Upscale Redo instead of variations on an upscaled —anime image, and MAGIC happened. Opposite of what I expected. The L.U.R. reclaimed a lot of lost clarity and color. AND the resolution bumped up from 1024x1024 to 1536x1536. Kinda like V3 and NIJI had a beautiful baby together — more detailed than NIJI, more elegant than V3, the best features of both. Spectacular result!!! Then, I ran it through again using Detailed Upscale Redo…. Wow.

There’s a trade off, lost some of the light bars underwater and a little of the forest on the distant horizon… but the detail in the foreground trees and corals blew my mind. I’ve been feeling like NIJI —anime upscales are kinda weirdly-smooth, especially with textures. And V3 was so magical, but often scritchy.

For the visual aesthetic I want to see (detailed, painterly, immersive) this combo hit the spot. But it’s after midnight, so more experimenting tomorrow. I’m in love with NIJI now. Lol
